What are some good things to see in Montreal?
I'll be there this weekend and wonder if there are any touristy things to check out.
Like some really good restaurants (Italian), a good show in town, any historical buildings, museums, etc. I don't know too much about the city. I appreciate your tips. |

Try the Olympic stadium in Eastern Montreal..close to there you can find the Biodome, Olympic pool and a few such things..

There is the BioDome where the is an internal ecosystem with the 4 seasons, You can go eat bugs at the "insectarium" too, they have some specials flavors for the kids, There is the Belvedre on Mont-Royal, you can go see the Wax Museaum, Ramsee Museau, there is "Le Marche Bonsecours", there is plenty of things do, there is the "Old Town" where everything dates from hundreds of years ago, with the streets in bring at the View-Port de Montreal, the list is very long ...

There are so many things to do in MTL its not fit... the strip clubs as mentioned are amazing. Check out Super Sexe and the downtown club.
Yes, Ceiliene does have restaurents a chain actully, called Nickels there are atleast 2 on St Cathrines. If you want the std tourist fair, and a fair meal go to Ben's ask anyone they;ll be able ot direct you, order a Jumbo smoked meat sandwitch and a Cherry coke. Well if I was you I would go see the Cathedral, it's the Notre Dame, very beautiful, it's in the Old Port, and there is also an IMAX theater not far, just south a few blocks, as for Italian restaurants, there are lots, especially in little italy, which is in the Northern Part of St Lawrence street a bit south of Jean Talon. There are more expensive ones lower on St Lawrence near Sherbrooke and also on Prince Arthur and St Lawrence which is close to Sherbrooke, just north. As for things to do, I would stick to indoor stuff, it's almost winter http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/smile.gif so I would go for the IMAX, either old port or downtown at the Paramaount. There is a lot of shopping downtown, malls that are connected underground! and there are some nice rides like the Atlantis 3D adventure at the Metaforia(downtown). For night life I would go to a nice club like 737 where you get an awesome view or one of the Spanish Clubs(Conga, Cubanos, Salsatheque) or if you really want strippers, go for the Ultimate, SOlid Gold.
Hope you have lots of fun, and by the way the most famous smoked meat is on St Lawrence Shwartzes, the best, buy a couple of pounds of extra lean and get some buns from Coco Rico two shops north and have a picnic! |

Kissed my first Girl Friend there hehe... I like the Pasta Factory for pastas.. Weinsteen and Gavinos' Pasta Factory.. it's on Crescent, between Ste-Catherine and De Maisoneuve. but there's a few other good ones in Little Italy go to www.toile.qc.ca do a search for montreal restaurant or something.. it,s a search for Quebec sites... might come out in french, check if there's an english version.. not sure.. or check for that on yahoo.ca too. |

There is Biodome and Insectarium... With the kids it's very interesting ...
Celine Dion's restaurent is Nickels and she don't own it anymore (well that was a chaine that she was affiliated with but she sold it . It's a family reataurent pretty cool but noisy) mmmmmmmmmmmm There are some big night clubs and raves (Redlight etc...) |
There is also the Old Port theres a big 1km labyrinth ... Very cool to do with kids . There is an imax near to there too .
