ARS hacked AGAIN!! Watch your links!!
That's the claim http://stats.adultrevenueservice.com...498&forum=4&13
And why the same account# as last time?? That account was supposed to have been terminated with the last hack. And why the short "We stopped them and we're not telling you anything else answers" Luckily this "hacker" never gets more than a couple of signups that needs to be redistributed. Heads up on your traffic!! Struck ONCE Struck TWICE RD |
Yep, I find it kind of odd myself.

hmmm...

I think this is a new Shave system! http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/biggrin.gif

Looks like it is actually a different account number than the last time.
They sure locked the newest hacked thread up quick. RD |
damn... this SUCKS... i want my 50 bucks per signup. i´m not working for a little hacker
ARS: WORK ON YOUR SCRIPT |

And they say the hacker is only stealing a couple of sign up's BULLSHIT!!!! A.R |
I think ARS needs to do a little better in communicating what is going on here other than the statement that they've assigned the signups (only 4?) to the correct owners. If this is such a random event, why are several webmasters who are diligently monitoring their clicks, reporting this problem? Think of the thousands out there who aren't actively monitoring their clicks? Who is getting their signups?
I won't call it a shave but I don't like the smell. Ned |
Did I wake up on the ARS board? http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/wink.gif

I dropped ARS after the first attack and wont use them again until I hear that they have removed the shave button that seems to be getting pushed a little bit to often lately, A.R |
Talking about ars, my ageoath avs sales dissapeared 1 hour ago. I think they have all kind of problems.

Rather than beat this topics to death on MULTIPLE boards this topic has been covered in great detail on the ARS board. But for a quick synopsis, yes there were only 4 signups redirected, he hacked one of MANY tour boxes for one site for 1.5 hours, this was the result in the relatively low number of signups.

Time to use recurring small sites, that using IBILL http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/biggrin.gif

Toolz... I think we'd rather see it "beat to death" here. You, being an ARS employee, wouldn't feel the same.

They are just too evasive about things and it makes it look like a cover up.
The identity of the hacker.. why is this secretive.... Quote:

I think the webmasters have been giving you a chance to give them some tangible information to disburse any thoughts they may have about it being ARS that is redirecting the traffic. This "you either trust us or your don't thing" got a little more than stale with the Snow dialer thing. I'm sure Snow trusted his partner and the webmasters trusted Snow and everybody got fucked on that deal. The more you do to "veil" this thieves identity, etc... looks more and more like you may have bigger reasons for not wanting us to know. RD Nothing personal Marc De or Toolz, but these are serious issues and thoughts that are in most everybodies minds and you will need to directly address these issues before it all goes away. |
Secretive? What is being held secretive? What does the identity of the hacker have anything to do with you as a reseller? Are you resellers for ARS, legal counsel for ARS, or FBI? Only 2 of the above should be aware of this information.
Intelligence would OBVIOUSLY point out that its not ARS 'stealing' sign ups. This just makes me laugh. If we were going to steal sign ups, why the HELL would we publicly give evidence of it. The point is, many many companies are hacked everyday. We were hacked and have been victims of this particular hacker for quite sometime. The point of a hacker is, you fill one hole, he creates another. Its a matter of staying on top of it. All that should matter to you is this - we were hacked on one box of many boxes that host re.php. The script was altered for ONE site and for only a short period of time. In his attempts to stay below radar he only wanted to credit a few sign ups rather than so many sign ups that we would question the accounts activity. The sales were credited to the proper accounts (so as far as you are concerned as resellers, NOTHING was lost). The hackers attempts were stopped and more security is being put in place as I type this response. We have nothing to hide here... However, I believe that MANY people are turning this into an issue that is far too big. There are much more important things to worry about as resellers, like getting more traffic or what you ate for breakfast this morning. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/smile.gif How many times have other sponsors been hacked and nobody finds out? ARS is under the spotlight all the time. It happens when you have as many resellers as we do. We've always been up front and honest with our webmasters and will continue to do so. I look to nurture the relationship between ARS and webmasters. You are a key function to our business and we are all on the same team, at least in my book http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/smile.gif |
Marc De.
Maybe you should think of us a little less as resellers and a little more as consumers, we are free to choose between various companies and we choose to use yours. Consumer confidence is down, that generally requires the company to build that confidence back up. What is so secretive?? The identity of the hacker, that's who? Why is that so important for us, because we want to see someones head on a platter, we want assurance. We want confirmation that there was indeed someone behind this. You said they hacked one box and redirected one site only, yet on the ARS board, the newest hack thread http://stats.adultrevenueservice.com...498&forum=4&13 , the webmasters stated they checked their links and were being redirected on Teen Dreamer, Amateur Freedom, Golden Trickle. Seems to be some discrepancy there between your statement above and those webmasters. |
Confidence is low in a few people who seem to already question us? The same people who will continually question us. Those conspiracy theorists http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/smile.gif
In regards to your last statement - that was what I read from one of my staffers. Perhaps he was misinformed. I do not run ARS day to day, I'm the idea man and I instill the management qualities of high ethics and integrity. Weekly paychecks, always on time, never an issue of non payment. We show our webmasters the money and always have. There is enough confidence for me!! http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/smile.gif The hacker is from Russia. We have his identiy - he goes by hellman and works at a hospital as a system administrator. He uses a US connection to 'attempt' to feed money to him, as we do not allow Russian webmasters. In accordance to our privacy policy - I can not post name and addresses of webmasters as public information. Leave the 'head on the platter' stuff to our lawyers http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/smile.gif |
Im a little late on this topic, but ARS is handleing their shit. They always do, and IMO I do think it would be better to discuss this on their board Ten.. They have it there for a reason, Lensman wouldnt want to do dammage contol on every webmaster board on the net, thats why he has a board for it..
This just shows that ARS is in the lime light and is a great program. This shit happens to every program out there, and if you say it doesnt our either naive or stupid. my 2 cents |

I just question things when people "seem" to be evasive. That is my "there is no such thing as free" and "you can't always trust your own eyes" upbringing. Quote:
I think that is all people ever wanted! Just enough to know that you guys are handling business. Thanks RD |
Russians again ?!?

FUCKIN RUSSIANS!!! I BET THEY WERE DOING IT FOR THAT MONGREL BIN LADIN,
Just JOKING!! no offence to anyone http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/smile.gif |
I think ARS is one of the best companies out there, but they originally handled this, in my opinion, poorly.
1) We were not originally told this was a hacker that had been known for some time. In fact, originally, we were told something like "I have looked over 1,000s of lines of apache code and don't know how it was done." 2) Within hours it was said, we don't know who it is, but we know it isn't an ARS employee. I don't believe it was an employee either, but if you don't know who it is, it would be impossible to know that. It isn't like the employee would be using their real name. 3) The account was deleted - so there should be no more problems. I don't know that much about programing, but I fail to see how deleting the account would stop the problem. I am fairly logical - and it just doesn't make sense. Wouldn't the clicks just then be redirected to an inactive account? I am not saying it isn't possible, just counter-intuitive - and you really can't expect people to buy stuff like that without an explanation. Just my 2 cents, like I said - I love ARS, but I just think this could have been handled better. There are a lot of ARS conspiracy theorists, and I think this is cause everyone one and their mother uses ARS. Know need to give them more stuff to whine about. ------------------ TopBucks.com - Converting at better than 1:130 David Lace Content - Highest Quality Teen Content ConversionCash.com - Make Money off your WebTV Traffic |
