My dog just took a 5 minute shit

my dog just dumped a huge loaf on the first push, but then walked around in the shitting position for 5 minutes trying to push out more - im afraid he's going to blow something out of his ass that he needs ... is this normal?

Jer 02-04-2005 07:22 AM

Poor dog :(
That position gotta hurt them

shima 02-04-2005 07:36 AM

Maybe he fell asleep?

boner 2.0 02-04-2005 07:38 AM

I hope not but he might be sick... :( :(

Xtriker 02-04-2005 07:38 AM

Maybe he's waiting for you to wipe his ass

Jennifer84 02-04-2005 07:39 AM

That seems a little weird. You should probably give him some brown rice to help settle his stomach.

Not very likely :winkwink:

Unlike cats, dogs aren't exactly the most clean animals you can think of. When you have a dog in your home you can almost always smell it too.

you timed it?....................you gotta get out more often. :1orglaugh

sickkittens 02-04-2005 08:48 AM

It's normal. You've never sat on the can trying and trying?

ADL_Christy 02-04-2005 09:12 AM

My dogs do that all the time. We have to pick up right after because they are poop eaters. Its gross when you have to wait with shit in your hand (in a bag of course) for the dog to finish pinching one off.

sure, i have labor pain poo's from time to time, but the puzzling thing is he took a HUGE healthy dump, then hobbled around in squeeze formation for 5 minutes ...

my dog used to eat cigarette butts out of the ashtray, and chew on used washcloths - if he ate poo id be disturbed.

ps where did this 'dogs mouths are cleaner than ours' bullshit come from? they never brush their teeth, use mouthwash, and they lick their asses ... how can their mouths possibly be cleaner

He was probably trying to get that last bit out. My dog does that on occassion and will walk around the whole yard trying to get it out. COuld be a slight blockage.

What a great, industry related thread. God this place sucks sometimes.

MandyBlake 02-04-2005 09:45 AM

why not just call a vet and ask?
