If you're going to be near New Orleans for gambling you should head about an hour east to Biloxi. Lots of casinos variety and awesome buffets.

If you like seafood plates or sandwiches and are in N.O. check out Cafe Masperos on Decater Street (right across from the Jackson Brewery mall). They bring out an unbelievable pile for a great price. If you like calimari you will never forget it there.:thumbsup

I misread. I was expecting to see birds and frogs. ;)

There is also a nice aroma as you leave walk around in that area. The smell is a mixture of urine and death.

Dont get me wrong, I like visiting new orleans, but I dont stay more than 24 hours.

I get in on one afternoon, and I'm gone by the next afternoon. Not feeling well when we leave, but some great memories.

also, I would never be down there during mardi gras.

As a kid I got shit on by a Pelican (it wasn't fun at all!) and ever since they have been my sworn enemies! I hate those birds even worse than I hate seagulls!

They're flying rats, all of them!

Usually I like to be at the Bourbon Street Awards on Fat Tuesday (huge ass unreal costume contest) but this year I'm going to go over and stay with a friend who lives on the Biloxi parade route who's throwing a Lundi Gras party (that means he is starting the day before:thumbsup).

They had a "petting zoo" at the fair a few years back and they sold ice cream cones with feed in them so you could feed the animals and a pelican jumped up and snapped one out of my hand. Scared the crap out of me and my sister nearly wet herself lauging:1orglaugh

That's actually compressed down a lot from the original. I can't post my originals here because they go like 4 times the size of the screen.

That's actually a lot different shot than what I was going for. The birds were all on the ground and I was going for the sun on the water being my focal point and as I got ready to take the pic a car drove by.

hey dude, how far away from baton rouge are you?

at the LSU lakes there's a bird sanctuary, and almost every time I drive by the lakes, there's about 250 pelicans hanging out around the bird sanctuary, and they're all HUGE, its amazing
