And I thouht TGP liked large pictures. That means tons of galleries not listed at these TGP (and maybe others I havent discovered yet) just cos I like to make great galleries..

Why use images that huge??

Galleries with images that big are not great, they actually are bad. Surfers wont wait for them to load... Way to big..

Whatever gets the signups..

You know the way it works. Large images = surfer perceives a quality site, without even loading all the images in the gallery = more signups + less bandwidth.

I thought that was large thumbnails. Large thumbnails make the surfer less likely to click for the big pic so less bandwidth? No? Okay.

Well, I give them large thumbnails as well, so it if one fails the other will get them. Anyways, it gets me more signups than small pics. I just wish the TGPs accepted them, I see no reason not to. A 250Kb picture is really worth looking at compared to a 30 Kb one.

i think with 100-120k and good compression you can have a quality image that will fit even the high resolutions.

Soul, sometimes I use very large image dimensionwise. Like 1200 * 800. They get big bandwidth, but I think being different from the regular galleries they get some attention.
