How is it possible that some surfers are able to find galleries that I have not submitted anywhere? Some even find stuff I have not even made an indexpage for.

Ok a hacker wont go look for your galleries :1orglaugh. He rather get in to your members area not some 1mb clip.

Well somebody was looking for my galleries and found some that I never submitted. Some I was still working on even. They posted them on a messageboard.

errr....I can't remember exactly how its done but I remember coming across some method for polling your site and having it return the site structure.(directory structure)

rofl .. u may have used numbers to label different galleries or they can just spider ur site for the structure and then look.

Any web site or page that you put in the web server's directories can be called though
HTML. Also if you do not disable directory browsing it can be searched just as if it is a local drive. Most of the time just changing the name on a pic a little is all you need to find more that the webmaster wanted you to see.

Yes. I had uploades movies and pics but no index.
They could have never known the name of the directory though.
Every directory I make is unique and does not have a logical consequence.

It has been removed. Must be cause I asked the forumowner to close down the page :winkwink:

The person talked about sniffing and leaching though...
The person also gave a method to bypass the ahl I have installed. I had to block the referrer with htaccess to get rid of this "thing"

sitenote: the person could even name the exact date I uploaded the movies....

I only ask because google will spider pages you visit from info the toolbar returns (good way of 'submitting new deep pages on a site ;) ). It can be a pain in the ass sometimes.

From the top of my head only the files in that folder showed up but I should doublecheck

I did not visit the pages that had no indexfile yet though. I only visit them at the moment I start submitting them.

Oh well - just a thought :) Something worth remembering though.
