IRON CHEF on the food network...

I love that show anyone else watch it?

vivency-AdamQ 02-02-2005 10:15 PM

no, but!

i have always been slightly disgusted with the naked cooking shows... i mean, how sanitary is it, really... i dunno it's probably not that bad, but it's gross in principle.

brizzad 02-02-2005 10:16 PM

i watch it every night at 2am central time :thumbsup

Chris 02-02-2005 10:17 PM

Dude, that is the best part. It's what makes it so entertaining.

:winkwink:

huey 02-02-2005 10:38 PM

Best show on tv. Monday night football meets cooking.
Lobster battle!

mardigras 02-02-2005 11:45 PM

Fukui-san?

MikeSmoke 02-02-2005 11:46 PM

Doc rules!

Ian 02-02-2005 11:49 PM

Can't get into it.

It's too weird when the announcers call it like a football game. :2 cents:

NaughtyRob 02-03-2005 12:09 AM

Yeah, I have watched it for years. The old one, not the new US one.

hell yea

the first time i watched the show i thought it was a joke.

one of the competitors, well, they flew in his maaaad old dad (like 90 years old or something) that he has never seen before to be in the audience. it was so funny. and he lost

marzzo 02-03-2005 12:21 AM

Great show, these 2 give me an iron woody:

Did you see the one the other day where they had Mishima Beef. The shit costs $200 for a steak but it looked awesome. There are only 200 cows/bulls killed per year in Mishima Japan and it's the highest quality beef in the world.

SykkBoy 02-03-2005 02:16 AM

I love that show and a lot of the shows on Food Network...

xclusive 02-03-2005 02:18 AM

Is that similar to Kobe beef?

I have watched the Japanese ones for years. Always loved it. I also thought it was a joke when I first saw it. The american version is ok so far, but I really dislike Bobby Flay.

swedguy 02-03-2005 07:02 AM

The original Iron Chef is the best. I watched the american version couple of weeks ago and it SUCKED really bad.

junction 02-03-2005 07:32 AM

I fucking love that show. I was a bit dissapointed with the Iron Chef America tho. It just didnt have the same quirkiness.

CaroMark 02-03-2005 08:31 AM

LOL I also thought it was a joke the first time I saw it but now I am hooked! Mario on the new American version seems to have a good personality for the show.

Good Eats is great too! :thumbsup

Paco, of Large Cash. 02-03-2005 08:47 AM

Hell yah! The original Iron Chef (Japan) was a hoot, but I am not too crazy about the newer version.

Bex 02-03-2005 08:48 AM

yes, from what i have seen of that show, Mario has the best personality for that type of environment.

I love the food network!

Mario's father has a deli in downtown Seattle and has been seen there many times behind the counter working. His personality is just as you see him on TV, funny and very friendly. He also hangs out at Palace Kitchen in Seattle, owned by Tom Douglas.

axelcat 02-03-2005 10:22 AM

:thumbsup

Just_Dave 02-03-2005 10:50 AM

thats a bad ass show

JUSTB 02-03-2005 11:31 AM

I was burned out on it for a while but now that they have the American series I've been watching it again. It's fun to watch these successful TV/ restaurant owners have to get in the kitchen and sling food again.

Giorgio_Xo 02-03-2005 11:31 AM

I love both versions of the show!

sickkittens 02-03-2005 11:33 AM

I can't stand that show - and not because I'm a vegetarian.

Sakai 4 Life!

sickkittens 02-03-2005 11:35 AM

The only decent shows that I've seen are the ones with Al Roker and the candy one.

TheJimmy 02-03-2005 11:37 AM

hell yeh it's a kick ass show...

only thing that bothered me the last time I watched it was the dude KEPT fucking cooking some stuff that he wrapped in plastic....wtf, doesn't he know how to read, that shit is horrible for ya...

anyways, it is an awesome show, there's another one on the food network with some cute lil blonde italian chick...don't mind watching that either ;)

:thumbsup :thumbsup

Yes but a better quality then Kobe beef. It's very fatty but
looked pretty tender. Mishima is a small island that has the
greenest grass the cows eat and that's what makes them so tender.

CherryLipsRosa 02-03-2005 02:22 PM

I love that show!!!

Dailydiapers 02-03-2005 03:53 PM

Love Iron CHef (America and the original)
