an unbeatable domain needs to be combined with an unbeatable website

Trust me I know that, like I said, I find the site impressive and if KRL has not yet seen it he may want to, can't hurt!
Oh and if you think I'm gunning at him because of the title of the thread, you know as well as I do that this is GFY and unless it is some sort of panic, no one will click on the darn thread, I suppose I put down very nicely done website and see who clicks on it :1orglaugh

sternyduke 02-02-2005 11:49 AM

i think men.com would have been a great fullblown gay-megasite.

Before KRL took over, I used to have small txt link way at the bottom of that long page WebFather made that pointed to my site "myhusband.com" the coversions were unreal. Problem was most of the guys were looking for gay stuff and they joined to see a bunch of new amateur guys they had never seen, I guess for something different. But even though we added gay content to the site it was not enough to keep them around.

Things can and do change though, it just really depends on how KRL decides to navigate it. Best of luck in any case. Oh, and I do miss that little link I used to have :Oh crap

KRL, I don't know you, but I just wanted to throw out my congratulations and best wishes for men.com. Most of the other folks on gfy would take a domain like this, throw a couple of porn ads up, and then post repeatedly how clever they are, and then call it a day.

You, on the other hand are building a real product. One that takes a lot more work and thousands of times the skill, all while knowing that the return from a couple of porn ads may have even been more lucrative in the short term.

This is what so many of the posters on this board don't understand. The thrill and the talent required to develop a REAL product...one that doesn't resort to the tricks and scams and the easy money of the adult trade.

Congratulations!

On that note, shoot over your contact info. I would be interested in exploring mainstream ad placement on your site.

bullz-eye.com has better looking chicks on it.

That site comes up a lot on Google results.

P.S. Further to my request above for advertising info..I noticed that your online media kit infers that rates are available in the pdf. But, when I try to find them, the pdf jumps from "the three levels" to "Placements". Are the rates available online?

Thanks 49. Yep, it really does take a lot of work and time to build a long term major site. No way around it. Anyone who thinks its easy has never done it. Its step by step by step by step. Eventually you reach the point where you can look back and see it all in perspective and realize how much labor went into your skyscraper.

ADL Colin 02-03-2005 06:56 AM

KRL,

Definitely like the direction.
