Tickets for the 2006 Word Cup are on sale now, anyone here trying to get some?

Anyways, I'd love to get some as well.. problem is that I only want to visit Holland matches, and I can't guess in what group they will come etc.

so that kinda sucks...

I plan a 2 weeks vacation then and go to Germany to watch some games and live in the atmosphere.

huh? i am sure you will be able to get tickets for some group games, like 2 months before the tournament start

and then you can buy tickets for the semi finals, final etc, on the after market :upsidedow

I hope the WOPs finally got rid of the Trap and never play his dumb ass version of a perfect game: 'get one goal and defend' ... makes for a very boring game as well makes peeps wonder why the G's are so revered in the soccer.

hmm, how can they sell group tickets, when they dont know what teams will be there? :) I think the countries have to be on the ticket, but that wont be official for the next year...

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - World Cup organisers have received orders for half a million tickets from more than 70,000 hopeful fans within the first 16 hours of the ordering system going live from midnight.

Applications came from 108 countries, including Burkina Faso and Macao, although the vast majority were from households in host nation Germany, the only country certain to be playing at next year's tournament.

A few minor technical problems hit the system on Tuesday morning, with 50,000 applications received before midday local time (11 a.m. British time), but they were quickly solved, according to organisers.

"Our system survived the first attack well and it is secure," said organising committee vice-president Horst R Schmidt.

A total of 812,000 tickets for the 2006 World Cup are available during the first sales window, which is open until March 31. Orders received will go into a draw on April 15, with the order in which applications are made making no difference.

Fans can apply for a maximum of 28 higher-priced tickets -- up to four tickets per match for up to seven matches. For the cheapest category tickets, fans can apply for a maximum of two tickets for up to three matches.

"I expect that we'll reach the milestone of a million ticket orders on Wednesday or Thursday," said organising committee vice-president Wolfgang Niersbach.

Such high demand comes despite the fact that Germany is the only nation guaranteed a place in the 32-team event.



so you can APPLIE for a ticket now and on march 15 , you will know wether you got one or not , you stil have plenty of time to applie, if I read that article correct it doesnt matter when you applie

500.000 tickets "sold" already.. damn I bet only 10% max will get the tickets :-(

i went to the last one in Japan (2002) was amazing, i'll never miss another one.

I would love to go.. but i'll probably just watch it all from home :)
