That wasn't the question. I did not ask which sends most traffic, or which is used the most, I asked who has the best search engine.

Quality. Who will give you the most results? From the user's point of view.

Nobody has near the acuracy of google.

I did for a site I opened a week ago. Google came up with zip, MSN had 103.

Who the fuck cares about that? No surfer is ever going to search like that.

Google blows away the phone book, in my opinion. I'm new in Cali and Google has never steared me wrong:

I found what I needed to find in a search and a phone call. I'd like to see you pull that off with MSN or Yahoo. Google is leaps and bounds ahead of the pack...and, no...just because your site ranks well on Yahoo or MSN does not make it the best search engine.

Anyone who says Google is not king is clearly and idiot.

I am not saying that Google isn't used more, it obviously is today . . . but MSN is going to grab the crown away from the king.

I find google results totally shit these days. A chunk of my day is often spent researching/looking for stuff with a 'commercial' bias (non-porn). For the most part google is only good if I want spammy directories or adwords pages. For 90% of searches MSN in its still beta state provides FAR better results.

I'd far rather skip other a few spam pages and find the results I want than have the first 100 results return useless crap because both the spam pages and the relevant sites are filtered by Google.

I've always wondered on those that sing Googles praises for the past 14 months or so (since the first big change/filter introduction) how many actually have to use the search feature on a regular basis for anything at least semi-serious. Seems to me most of them base their views purely on whther their own sites have ranked well or not and not on the actual results returned.

As some people are bound to miss the point I'm obviously talking about it from the point of view of searching and NOT traffic. I'll still happily take a number 1 on google over anything else any day although the gap is narrowing a little.
