Can Ebay Do This?
A friend of mine had an ebay account a while ago, owed them $2300 when the business failed. 6 months later they took the $2300.00 off a credit card he never used with Ebay, how is this possible and isnt this against the law?
If he never used the card with eBay, where did they get the CC details?
That's what I'm wondering, american express said some shit about AOL, isnt that against the law for aol to pass that information to ebay?
He must have used the card for verification or something...
Well if he 'owed' 2,300$ because of the listing fee's and everything... i think they can take that money... and that's why i always pay my bills each month.
If Only that we're true, he didn't that's what sucks and I really don't get it.
Is he using the CC for a paypal account?
nope. not even a paypal account.
The only thing that I'm thinking is they filed a complain with like some super collection agency and they were able to aquire the funds from the other credit cards he owned that had the available funding.
He had to have used that card with an Ebay company at one point or another. Even if Ebay was awarded a judgement they can not just find one of your other credit cards and charge it.
How Much Is This Worth?
How much would a site/ebaystore be worth if it made 2k a week, had thousands of items on the store and in the fully developed site, if you wanted to sell it?
He must have used it long time ago to verify his account... they didn't just get the credit card number out of thin air...
