Which hard disk brand is better?

I heard Seagates have been pretty good

Might just be me but I always go with WD.

Seagate is badass... I have 5, no problems.
Had 3 maxtor, 2 of them crashed :(

Both are good, but if you are looking into silence rather than raw performance (for which Maxtor are very good also) I would get the Seagate rather than WD

so when it comes down to quality wd is better?

I have them both in one PC & like them both

go with a sony or 1 from radio shack :thumbsup

Check the stats... noise is a big one for me.

WD. but it doesnt really matter. Just avoid maxtor.

most seagates have 5 year warrantys. No western digital's do. You can't go wrong with a company that will replace the drive in 4 years and 11 monthes if it fucks up

I prefer seagate cause they're quieter.

I'm using Maxtor....sometimes my PC can't startup :(

Nop when it comes down to performance, tho a Maxtor with 16MB cache is better :)

When it comes to quality any of this brands will treath you good: Seagate, Maxtor, WD, and the latest Hitachi after they got the hdd biz from IBM.
