So I've been messing with some 3D - Check out my first model! (Frog Pic)
So I ordered an online video tutorial on how to model a frog - It was real helpful and I learned a shitload! This isn't exactly what I would consider finished though, since I have to fix that "seam" going up the middle of it's back and several other things model-wise.
But this is DEFINITELY fun stuff to mess around with! It's not as difficult as most tend to think, just a matter of learning whatever software you're using (Maya, for me). http://66.197.63.28/froggysmall.gif Larger View |

Once you get the hang of it though and do enough of these tutorials, I can see myself doing something like that frog in a matter of a couple hours. |
Where'd you get the video? We own a copy of Maya over here but only one guy knows how to use it. I'd be interested in giving it a shot. We also have a copy of Character Studio.

that looks good. i've never tried maya. most of my 3d work has been limited to bryce. nothing very special, mostly just scenery shit.

www.gnomonworkshop.com www.digital-tutors.com www.lostpencil.com are 3 other big ones. I liked simplymaya.com the best though because their tutorials are lead by example - they take you step by step with modelling, animation, and texturing while actually building something. The tree frog tutorial costs about $50 or so - you have to buy points though, minimum is 35 points (around $58). |
that is great! .. i cant even do anything 2d worth a shit ....

Good work
