WOW very cool Halcyon, hey you gonna be in phoenix?

Icon 01-29-2005 06:10 PM

so serene - much better than snow

PersianKitty 01-29-2005 06:11 PM

Kewl!

I've seen orcas in Puget Sound from my place. Remember dolphins all the time when I had the boat.

Two summers ago we did a whale watching tour near the San Juan Islands here in Washington. We got to see 3 pods come together for a 'meet and greet'. There were over 60 orcas up and around our tour boat and within a few hundred yards. It was insane.

WOW!! that sounds awesome. WIthout the magnification of my camcorder, all I can really see is the spouts. So I definitely want to try a whale watching trip and see if I can get a closer view of the majesty.

swedguy 01-29-2005 06:14 PM

That is AWSOME looking :thumbsup

BV 01-29-2005 06:22 PM

I live so close to the dolphins I can hear them breathing and playing at night as I lay in bed. Few nights ago I walked out to the end of my dock at about 3 AM and one came up to me and put on a show as it chased a mullet in about a 15' radius 360, was pretty cool.

I had my camcorder with me this Dolphin Video but usally when something really cool happens I never have it. :(

Very nice video Halcyon......I live on the beach on the Florida gulf coast and see a lot of Dolphins also. We have only seen whales one time when about 20 Pilot Whales kept beaching themselves on our beach. We spent 8 hours keeping them alive with about 30 people working non-stop only to have the local authorities come out and put them to sleep. It was very sad and had most everyone that was working in tears. The excuse they gave us was that they didn't have room to take care of them in Fort Walton at the Gulfarium nor the equipment to transpot them. It is really strange how when one of them gets sick and beaches that the rest just keep beaching themselves to be with him. Nature is very strange sometimes.... :(

XOXOXO
*Krystal*

Edit: On a happier note I do remember them taking a smaller one from a mile down the beach from us and saving it. It was released about three months later back in to the Gulf. :)

TKoProductions 01-29-2005 08:16 PM

Hey Halycon,

How often do you go out on your porch and look out over the ocean?

Well, my desk is right next to the most western window, so I'm looking over the ocean all day. But I usually go on the porch once in the morning with coffee/tea and again at sunset. Or whenever I notice neat clouds. :)

pornguy 01-29-2005 09:06 PM

Hal. We have an office on the second floor of our house here in Baja, and have been watching for the whales. Now that we know that they are getting this far south, we are going to go on one of the whale watching trips from Ensenada. If you guys would be interested in going, hit me on ICQ and maybe a bunch of us could go.

Mr. Mike 01-29-2005 09:17 PM

you full of fuck.

austinth 01-29-2005 10:02 PM

they are amazing to watch in their own environment. Way back when here in Victoria BC, I was working on a remote island, 'Domville Island' owned by the family that owns Columbia Sports Wear redrilling three existing water wells for them. We used to have commute to the island everyday by boat, which was actually the best commute to a work place I've ever had. We often saw several whales near us. Infact we were able to get within 50' or so of them, which was just amazing!

RevSand 01-29-2005 10:18 PM

NICE!! Great pad right on the beach!

sweet video. I like to go over to cabrillio (sp?) whatever the naem is, lol - the palce where the lighthouse is and the tide pools... over by sunset cliffs kinda. You get some really nice views up there.

X37375787 01-30-2005 03:54 AM

That is really neat. I also liked the random "wooooooooow" in midst of the recording.

Manowar 01-30-2005 03:55 AM
