Noobs come on everyday and the scammers prey on em.... We should all compile a list with PROOF and such..... What do you think? Ill host it. |
Sounds good to me people sometimes forget too soon about people who fuck other over I refuse to do business with scammers there are too many decent people to work with. I want to do good business with good people.

A check list of required (verifiable) proof might help and posting ONLY verified facts (without necessarily drawing conclusions - let the reader decide for themselves) might be of some value. Although, if I need to know something about someone, I just ask those I know in this business directly (whose judgement I trust - or at least understand their biases) and they can pass on what they know without having to access a "whiner's blog". -Dino |
scammers change board nicknames, website and mod of operation overnight, you will go broke trying to keep up with them.
why not just publish a list of known honest webmasters and biz people who we know we can trust and who has stood up for them? |

nice idea juicy :thumbsup |
Obviously dont post shit about people if you dont have some sort of legit proof
Need some sort of substantial proof. |

MartinPeak - scan boards to see the threads over the last year - site scraper, domain keyword stealer from many major TGPs and Linklists - and always blames someone else for it

But the new people to the bizzz dont really contacts as you and I so it might be a valuable resource for em. |
How about WMC² Webmaster Profiles, a professional archive with the good and the bad information about webmasters and their businesses!

I am assuming the importance of that pic is the "shown" part? |
My nuts are cold.....

2 of the biggest scammers to avoid..
Nick Nolter ( You gaming guys know who I'm talking about ) Shawn Dolven MANY companies both in the States AND Europe know of / have been scammed by this prick.. |
If you do something like that and make the list public, you better make sure you have non-refutable, rock hard evidence it is true for your own protection or you may get some people that file a lawsuit.
|
i think it is a good idea. there are plenty of people here who have been ripped off.
although i would make it a valid scamming list. not one where a person was late with a design or there was confusion about payment, blah blah blah. too many people here are too quick to scream scammer when the word should not be used. all in all though, good idea. |
... whatever you do, don;t put perfection jeff on that list, he is just missunderstood.
|
Its like the better business bureau if they tried to keep up with all the scammers they wouldnt be in business. instead they just get all honest people to sign up with them. much easier and better. afterall if you go to sign up with a sponsor or a traffic provider or a web host, and they're NOT listed with you... thats enough to raise some eyebrows (assuming a vast majority of service providers ARE listed with you). You could also make it decently profitable(paying yourself a salary - non profit of course :p) charging for listings just like acsap or whatever does.
|
Now, is this a serious thread or???
I dont feel comfortable posting it in public, even if I have 110% bulletproof evidences on my hand. But I like the idea of creating a fair and neutral website, in which the hole community, affiliates and paysites are supporting. Not only names, but also type of scam/shaving and certainly proofs. |
