Sponsors: Do signups from..

Do signups from sites like "Napster of Porn" (because they're pushing the get porn for free factor) lead to more chargebacks and cancels than regular types of sites or galleries?

Thanks

I don't think you should expect a detailed reply on this :2 cents:

TheMob 01-29-2005 12:15 PM

huh, why don't you think so?

You very rarely see sponsors talking about such issues.

Usually:

1. a sponsor rep is too dumb to know this or even understand your question, he can only say "we launched Black Nude Asses last week and convert 1:142 with TGP traffic"
2. a big program owner is too busy to find this thread or to answer your question
3. a small program owner doesnt have any data on that

But maybe I will be proven wrong :D

PA is probably right but if people are expecting something for free and they get charged they will chargback i'm imagnining

GoogleBot 01-29-2005 12:30 PM

Actually youd be surprised but the chargeback ratio on those isnt much worse then the rest of the industry. The volume those guys have is tremendous.

XpressMedia 01-29-2005 12:30 PM

I dont know...

calmlikeabomb 01-29-2005 12:31 PM

This is a stupid question.

Sly 01-29-2005 12:32 PM

PA is right and wrong.

You aren't going to get any answers, but for different reasons. Who do you expect to answer this question, sponsors or the people running the sites? The sponsors won't answer because 1) its none of your business, and 2) it will piss off their current affiliates that ARE doing it. The site operators aren't going to comment simply because they don't have to or want to. Why would they want to create more competition for themselves?

If you want to know the answer you'll have to try it out for yourself.

The simple answer is yes they never will retain as well as other members that may have come from for example a search engine.

Trax 01-29-2005 01:51 PM

source of traffic always has a big influence on such factors!

hydro 01-29-2005 02:00 PM

I have one site that i target only through the p2p networks and yes, my chargeback ratio is slightly higher but its pretty close to normal, nothing that would raise red flags. I think what makes your chargebacks swarm you is when your area members suck and its too hard to navigate for the stuff the surfers want to find.

venus 01-29-2005 02:55 PM

where is "Napster of Porn" at ?

Theo 01-29-2005 03:01 PM

it's higher, if you have large volume you'll get away. If you have small it can be an issue cause you might get flagged for fraud easier.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. What do bigger programs consider large volume? 3-4 digit signups per period?
