im at 8mbit is that fast according to todays standards?

Here in Holland the topspeed (consumer end) is 10mbit so I do consider it high. Average households here still live on 1mbit :2 cents:

2mbit... max I can get without paying $200+/mo for a satellite connection that would barely work due to bad weather.

a fast cable connection is good enough for me, I don't d/l that much so it suits my needs just fine!

I'm thinking of getting cable line

56k modem. I moved 2 1/2 months ago and I've been sitting around waiting for my telco to get off their ass and install DSL capability in my local subexchange.

I estimate that I'm losing at least $US100 a week because task X which took 2 mins on DSL now takes 15 on a modem. If I need to do that task repeatedly (like reviewing a trade or gallery) then I can't do it as much.

Just moved up to high speed cable yesterday.

Anyone got any cool movies that I can download.

No longer will I have to smile and agree with everyone while they are talking about the movie they saw online. Now I can partiicpate in the conversation.
