After six months of rehearsals for his play, my 14 year old son....

He gets up there to do his part and trips and falls flat on his face! Before I could gasp in sheer sympathetic horror, he got up and proceeded like nothing happened at all. In fact, he made it look like part of what he was supposed to do.

I could not be more proud of my boy than I was tonight. I'm absolutely beeming with pride. He just proved what I've been JUST learning to believe myself. That you can fall flat on your face, bounce back and be stronger and greater than ever.

At the intermission he was flocked by literally at least ten middle school girls all trying to get his autograph. He was the star of the show :thumbsup What a fantastic night I had.

He even impressed my seven year old daughter who is usually repulsed by his very existance. lol

Well there was nothing "cute" about it. You should have heard the echoing of the stage. He's 6 feet tall and has size 13 1/2 shoes. hahaha

Thanks for all the nice comments guys :)

Furious_Female 01-29-2005 02:14 PM

That's very cool. I probably would have cried and moved to another state because I am not as suave lol. Cute story :) Move over Brad Pitt...

BradShaw 01-29-2005 02:15 PM

14??? You told me you were 26 in Vegas.

CoreAdult-Dee 01-29-2005 02:42 PM

For Halloween one year my son went as Robinhood. He wore the hat, the "dress" and the stockings etc. Well, he went to the daycare in the morning, and then the daycare walked him over to the school. We were never given an explanation as to WHY, but the daycare worker took off my sons "dress" and sent him to school in a t-shirt and brown tights.
Well, they paraded the little kids around the school for everyone to see, and even filmed it. My poor little son walking around in nothing but panty hose with his undies showing right through.
We still laugh about what happened. Explaining to the school why he ended up half clothed I left to the daycare.

haha... I'm still trying to get over the fact that YOU have a 14 year old son!

That story just goes to show that we have as much (or more) to learn from our kids as they do from us. :thumbsup
