Promoting AFF in Newspaper

Does anyone do this? how much do you pay and what are the returns like?

xlogger 01-28-2005 09:55 PM

aaron 01-28-2005 09:55 PM

xclusive 01-28-2005 09:57 PM

interesting idea

Buddah00 01-28-2005 09:57 PM

I bet most surfers would just enter the address without your affiliate code. I doubt you would see any ROI :2 cents:

That's why you register a short and snappy dedicated domain name, that has a descriptive landing page/FPA, or a straight redirect to AFF.

A few years ago I tried to convert another dating site (which online kicked ass) in one of the seedier papers that are filled with personals, and the offline to online conversions did not cover the cost of the ads (I think I tried it for 2 or 3 weeks). I believe they were 2x4 ci ads, at a cost of around $100 per week.

Hopefully you do better.

My experience too. might take longer then a few weeks to see a good return though.

GatorB 01-29-2005 04:04 AM

Well perhaps now that AFF has geo targetting you'd get a better return. People that look at personal ads in the local paper expect to get local results.

damn old threads... they should color code threads... so if they are over a week old they are purple or something

pornguy 04-27-2005 10:56 AM

If someone is really thinking of doing this, hit me on ICQ. I have a monthly print magazine that you can out them in.

It works very well if you understand print advertising... Just placing an ad and crossing your fingers won't work though... :2 cents:
