Whats the deal with redirecting non US traffic?
 

One simple example:
100 000 hits to paysite - 100 sales

traffic - 60% US:
60 000 US
40 000 non-US

sales 70% US:
70 sales US
30 sales non-US

US ratio - 1:857
non-US ratio - 1:1333

$30 per sale
US $2100
non-US $900

Do you make more than $900 when you redirect 40k people who want to see the paysite to a dialer?

Your non-US traffic may be good, but others' may be not, esp. if it's Chinese.

what sucks is that some sponsors don't comprehend that non-us traffic isn't all chinese and russian.. I hounestly get offended when they fuck me off to some dialer (I'm norwegian)..

yup exactly... most Americans seem to think they are the only ones that have credit cards. Pretty annoying.

They could at least put some effort into sorting out non-US traffic. I get why they wouldn't want chinese traffic, but i'm sick to death of being redirected to dialer and popup hell when i go and check out a paysite i want to promote. I live in Australia. We've been using those crazy little credit cards for quite some time now. Straight away, i don't want to promote a sponsor that's doing that. Especially if i'm not even going to get credit for the dialer and popup income, which is usually the case.

It's such bullshit.

Depends what type of non-us traffic.

I can send 40k chinese traffic to a dialer and make something or send it to a sponsor, waste my ratios, use your bandwidth and mamke $0

There are countries I would redirect however not european countries like UK, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, ...

it sux when sponsors redirect me when I try to view their paysite, when they do that I'll drop them the next second, I make some nice bank from european traffic, and I don't see why I won't get credit for that

redirecting at galleries should be a ban / blacklist at once, as most of the sponsorprograms have noo clue whats happening with their surfers/ webmasters surfers.
It's just extra income, not knowing that both program and webmaster are getting FUCKED OVER!

Specially on european traffic.... having a dialer option at your billing page is decent ( as long as you picked the right dialer and pay your webmasters for it )

When people think about "The right dialer" most of them are wrong!
Most dialer companies have their own content ( and at that spot they are competing with their clients - the program )

From europe try to get into the paysite dialing up, next close down and try again the next time, but use the button installed on your computer. If they want you to dial up again and you actually get into the same paysite as the day before... you are talking about a dialer coming near to be the " right dialer " . ( This is already very very rare finding the same paysite the day after )

Dialer income should not be steady, it should be growing for both webmaster and program. The more surfers install it and wanna come back the next day ( or couple of days after ) they should get into the same site ( making sure both webmaster and program will get paid over this )

The more installs of a decent dialer, the more you should earn daily.
Etc etc etc I can go on about this all night

My friends are currently working on the best solution for this well known problem though! :winkwink:

the best solution is just not to redirect the traffic :)

If you read my post you know we share the same feeling. a dialer option on your billing page is good though.... lots of people in Europe dont have a CC and next to that some of them prefer dialling up first to check the membersection and than sign up.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I've never made any serious money from dialers. But I'm promoting some sites that convert BETTER with quality European Traffic (UK, NL, Germany etc.) than with pure US Traffic, so this might not happen often, but IMO traffic from "rich" european Countries is nearly as valuable as US Traffic, and I could imagine that it would convert even better if the traffic would be more targetted.
F.e. I'd say that a Dutch Banner pointing to a Dutch website ( or at least a properly translated one) could convert even as good as an US-Banner that points to a common Paysite.

Had my first CC 17 years ago, and even then my father allready had one.. But then we where propably pioneers as i doubt anyone else in poor little undeveloped Denmark have ever heard of such thing as a credit card, except from what they seen american movies ofcouse :winkwink:

At Porn DVD Dollars we have found that it's most profitable for us to redirect many foreign countries even after paying the webmaster for dialer minutes.

However, we do believe you should have the option for your traffic, so we offer the option to turn the dialer redirect off and allow you to choose the best method for converting your traffic... :)

redirecting foreign surfers to programs with more then just a dialer option is best imho

we have 5 billing options for the surfer including dialers so u convert more often with a higher revenue stream because we also have a direct debit payment option that we pay out a PPS or recur on

dont just send your traffic to one billing option
