I find it interesting that the advertising for Men.com is being brokered by an advertising broker that specializes in adult. No offense to GTS by any means, I just find that a very strange decision. I would think, a domain like Men.com would be hunting down advertisers like Men's Health and other men related magazines, products, etc.

Men.com still looks too pornish. I am REALLY hoping it is redesigned by a professional soon.

Very good question Sly, KRL handles the mainstream buyers and we handle the adult buyers. All advertising placed by GTS will be obviously of a "softcore" nature and will have to be screened first by KRL and his team. We can't have Atari's banner right up beside a chick taking 2 cocks in her ass ;)

Yes, and that's also fluffy bullshit. FS does business with KRL and my comment merely states an opinion. I don't think the design is of the calibur that it needs to be to live up to MEN.com.

If I didn't give a shit I would simply respond to everything with "GREAT JOB!" or "NICE WORK!" or "LOOKS GREAT!" But I care- as KRL is a friend and someone we do biz with so it never hurts to have constructive critisism.

EDIT: be that as it may- while on topic of the thread.. KRL could not have picked a better team, as I respect few more than I do both Magnus and DH in the business. :)

GTS is expanding into mainstream advertising sales now. Mark said he had a bunch of adult guys looking for ad space for their mainstream sites and I said go for it.

We just partnered with Warner Brothers to provide our entertainment industry content. A company in that league doesn't jump in bed with you unless they like what they see.

It took AskMen.com years to build up nearly 10,000 articles. You just can't do everything to that magnitude overnight. The first 1 to 2 years you've got to experiment and try different things till the formula is tweaked perfectly. Its an adventure and we're having fun and that's what matters most.

In about a week we integrate in the affiliate program for the new Personals. That's another big step.

One step at a time. I'm not one to rush things unless I have to and I don't.

men.com is looking pretty good and KRL says it's still in development/being fine tuned & seeing what works. nothing wrong with that. I think in a few years it will be a cool portal with decent traffic. KRL is thinking long term :thumbsup

No its only 5 selections on 5 drop downs. so 5 x 5 is 25.

The clever way to do this is to grab a channel and work it to the max. So you take the teen channel for example and send it to a nicely laid out teen tgp.

I'm going to be pouring money into promoting all these domains heavily to ramp the traffic way up to 6 and 7 figs a day. We're going to be advertising a GGW style TV spot on Spike Network, that will pull traffic to a softcore landing page and then pull them over to the domains.

Anna Nicole Smith is going to be doing an interview for our site by the way Keith. And we met with our ad agency today to discuss the TV spot plans.

Another way to do it is to get together with a couple of your fellow webmasters and split the channel cost and bring it to a 2, 4, 6 panel section landing page.

We have way too many domains to go all out, so we just want to be the gateway provider and marketing provider to drive the traffic to the hilt, and you guys take it from there and that way everyone gets to make money with these great domains.
