DESIGNERS: Need help with PS Color Settings!

Maybe one of you can help me.... my color settings seem to be wrong....

don't know what happenend but my grey looks like a light blue, and all the other colors look kind of different than normal....

didn't change anything... anyone had the same problem before?

You might have accidentally switched from RGB to CMYK. Hit 'Ctrl-Y' and see if that fixes it.

This might help

1. Go to Edit > Color Settings
2. For RGB, select Adobe RGB (1998)
3. For CMYK, select US Web Coated (SWOP) v2
4. Gray and Spot, use Dot Gain 20%

I assume this is in your swatches? Check them and make sure you have your colors set straight

Yeah...now the grey looks like grey again....but now look at my color picker, and what happens when i take a screenshot.... :-(((

you see those waves in the picker window? that's not normal isn't it...and if i view the screenshot in PS the grey gets a slight pink touch... think my computer got gay...

Must have to do something with your monitor settings so check them too.

can't be, when i look at colors outside PS, everything is normal....

Skn_Designs 01-28-2005 10:10 AM

i don't get it anymore.... HEEEEELLLLPPPPP

I noticed some weirdness colorwise when switching from crt to lcd. Did you recently switch? I would just go into your monitor settings or color management settings and adjust to normal looking values.

If you have two outputs put a crt in one and adjust to it.

no switched long time ago...

don't understand that shit.... when i go on Adobe RGB(1998) and the other settings above, the grey looks right, but other colors look shitty.... when i switch to Monitor RGB the grey looks like slight blue but all other colors seem to be right....

but when i save the file as gif or jpg...it looks right...so it has to do something with the adobe settings, but i can't figure out what is wrong....

I hate my lcd monitor... and PS colors work for me only correctly when I set the RGP profile to Adobe RGB.

Skn_Designs 01-28-2005 10:33 AM

thats what i have done, but the colors look crappy anyways....

Looks like Your'e in some kind of 8-bit color-mode (256 colors only)..! :2 cents:

Go through ALL settings/menu-options and lab with them a while...
Hopefully that'll do it :thumbsup

Skn_Designs 01-28-2005 11:17 AM

hmm...that's true if i go to menu/image/mode i see RGB & 8 bits/channel...but i can't select 16/channel..... whats up with this?
