Great domain name ..900 bucks for openers...hmmm

pxxx 01-27-2005 09:56 PM

Nice domain, if i had that much laying around, i would pick it up.

Rick Latona 01-27-2005 09:59 PM

Hal,

I'll give you 400 for it because I actually have a need. I don't think you'll get 900 but you never know. Hit me up if your auction doesn't do well. I do however wish you the best of luck.

DaddyHalbucks 01-27-2005 10:20 PM

Rick,

You are a nice guy, but open up your wallet. Add two zeroes.

Two zeros? $40,000?

How many uniques does it get per day? 10?

$400.00? :-) Just kidding, decent domain.

Good name.

But if reserve is too high, this might end up similar to the YUCK.COM auction.

Yes, yes, yes --and yes.

If you aren't a paysite operator with a bunch of sites and an affiliate program, and easy traffic, you have no business buying it.

The purchase price equates to roughly 1500 signups, maybe a little less, maybe a little more, depending how you value joins. I figure it will pay for itself in a few months for the right player --not a bad buy, even at $40k.

xclusive 01-27-2005 10:34 PM

Nice domain but I would take Ricks offer

I love how domains work, people just pull prices out of their ass.

eddie-executive 01-27-2005 10:39 PM

the name does not and will not generate income by itself so why is it $40,000? just cause it sounds good or looks good? See what big bird thinks \/

With 14,000 domains under management, it gives some background into how to value and manage them.

Does it really? The names and prices we've seen from you say otherwise.

I understand X,XXX but no way in hell would it fetch 40grand unless it was developed with existing type in traffic. :2 cents:

I'd agree with that. Anything's possible, so you never know, and it doesn't hurt to try. But 40k would be extremely unusual. >$1,000 but <$40,000.

If anyone needs a milf domain on the cheap, milflikers.com is available for $7...not as strong as milflovers.com, but quite a savings! :-)

Der Schleicher 01-28-2005 08:52 AM

Me thinks a great domain name :thumbsup

DomBuyer 01-28-2005 08:55 AM

Hal, your consistent delusion is always entertaining.

You seem a glutton for public ridicule as well.

But hey, good luck! :error

realed 01-28-2005 09:10 AM

$40,000 .... good luck.

If you get anything over $1000 for this domain i would certainly be surprised but all the best to you. It's a nice domain.

Terry

Thanks for the kind words.

DaddyHalbucks 01-28-2005 09:20 AM

Somebody just bid $900 at eBay, so the ball has started rolling.

Let's see where it ends..

Defying the critics and becoming successful --why would you think that could provide any satisfaction?

Exactly, because people would rather keep them if they are not going to get a signifigant ammount for them.

I agree $40,000 is high, but you don't see a desperate seller here.

Only 10 hours left!

Go here now to bid:

MILF is an awesome niche.

This is a great opportunity to acquire a terrific domain on which to build a profitable MILF brand for your company.

40k are you out of your mind??????????????????????

volante 02-03-2005 11:50 AM

$40,000? To the right person it'll be worth FAR more than that once it's developed. People forget that it's not just about the typeins, having a memorable name is far more important - how many typeins did yahoo.com get when they started?

foolio 02-03-2005 11:51 AM

Here is 40Ks for you:

KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

So can I have it now? Just print up this post for payments.

Shit - I am a nice guy - I will even give you some D's for free:

DDDDDDDDDD

there, 10 Ds for free cuz I am a nice guy

I'm sure once it is developed and earning huge revenues, people would have no trouble paying that much for the developed brand name and domain.

beemk 02-03-2005 12:30 PM

40k? what a joke.

And getting it developed is gonna be a lot easier and quicker if it has a good memorable domain name. Kinda like remembering to put decent wheels on the cart before decided where to attatch the horse. Quicker development=more profit.

Dirty F 02-03-2005 01:05 PM

40k??

AHAHHHHHHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I love the domain market and the retards who think theyre sitting on a goldmine hahahaha

True. But why pay $XX,XXX for a good memorable name that isn't premium, when you can get one for $X,XXX or even $XXX?

If I want to buy an undeveloped piece of land in some desolate area, why should I pay $1 million when an adjacent piece of property (that is very similar) sells for $50,000?

Anyway, the market speaks louder than you or I. Current bid: US $959.00 (Reserve not met)

Cheers.

You could just as easily develop and brand a domain you could pick up for 9 bucks at any registrar. Quick, go register MILFMania.com and hock it on ebay for 15 grand. It's got a nice ring to it. That domain is worth no more than 9 bucks until someone develops it into something worthwhile. Just the same as google.com wasn't worth shit, thehun.net wasn't worth shit, and so on. The guy selling this domain is an asshat. If he had any sense at all, he'd take the current offer and run.
