Does your US bank charge you for INCOMING wires?
I've been getting wires and just found out today that my bank started charging for wires 6 months back without notice. $28 per wire for incoming... plus whatever the sending company charges. Fuckers. :321GFY
   |
your getting screwed
charges depends on the type of wire.. the sender can select between:
SHA - they pay their fee you pay your fee OUR - they pay all fees BEN - you pay all fees |
Banks charge you for anything these days. Where you been?
Nope, not after the first time when I called and yelled at the manager for doing that. He reversed the charge and I never saw that again.
phew! that's some bullshit. Personally, I think wires should be free to both send and receive.
You shouldn't..
hate banks - nickel and dimed for everything including wires. i just want checks, cuz Paypal also do the same. Western Union ever worse.
Bank of America charges me $10.00 for each incoming ccbill wire. I hate it but when can I do...
Yes, they do. They charge for send/receive wires and to cash my checks. Bastards.
USBank charges me around $7 per incoming domestic, $14 for incoming int'l.
My bank didn't do that until 6 months ago... I'm very pissed about this. CCbill charges $15, then my bank another $28, that's $43 per wire. In the grand scheme of things that nothing but it's the principle.
*** Breaking news on CNN... Deranged pornographer drives car through bank and runs over manager 28 times. |
Put them under check, take control. Call the bustards and have them waive the fees, they will.

What I did do was call ccbill and change my payouts to Bi-Weekly instead of weekly. :thumbsup |

Another tax write off sure, but a letter would of been nice... "Dear DWB, we regret to inform you that all incoming domestic wires will now be charged a fee of $28 USD. Thank you for banking with us." It's called good business practice to not drop shit like that on your customers without notice. I don't like hidden fees and silent rate changes. OK... I feel better now. Venting feels good. :upsidedow |
I pay $10 for incoming, both domestic and international... $28 is outrageous
im being charged $15 for international wires only, domestic are free

My bank charges $12 per incoming wire. I think it's total bullshit.
I THINK mine fluctuates by the amount of the wire, but not sure, last surcharge was $12.00.
*shrug* FF |
Bank of America doesn't charge me for many things.. Not even international incoming wires. I do pay for outgoings.
I'm not in the US, but when I receive wires my bank actually mails me notification, so I can see exactly who it's from, what the conversion rate was, and what their fee is ($AUD8/$USD6.20 at the moment)
At first it was annoying to receive a bit of paper every week but it's actually quite handy to file it away and be able to refer back to it later. Perhaps your bank can do something similar? Then again knowing banks they'd probably charge you extra for it. :winkwink: |
could depend on what kinda account you signed up with for example some banks will not charge you fees for wiring if you keep minimum balance of 5k-25k etc. whereas they have no strings attached accounts where they'll charge all kinda fees. call and ask your bank to get all details. If you have a good balance chances are banks will desparately want to keep your business and waive many fees.
