Just tried a nice little trick on getting blogs crawled by yahoo(then google follows, then the other search engines follow).. last night within 8 hours, google crawled 200+ pages

Maybe he's got a nice network of sites to link up the blogs, who knows. You don't neccessarily need an old domain and PR to get into google, though it certainly helps.
