Big Paysite Owners

It would behoove you to worry about your members and not just your webmasters. I've signed up (as a surfer) to 2 paysites yesterday, both sites are part of large programs and BOTH members areas were fucked. On one, the 'bonus' sites links didnt work. I notified the owner of the BIG program, still not fixed. The other one while trying to get to the members area a big ass page for Zend Optimizer comes up saying it isnt installed properly... WTF is wrong with you ppl? I bet you wonder why your conversions and retention suck. Attention to detail is crucial. When you run an affiliate program you must cover ALL bases, it's not entirely about getting ppl to join up. That's only half the battle.

Im not surprised.

homegrownmof 01-27-2005 11:09 AM

Kman - Nice post!

People wonder how a program can have 150 sites all at once and have enough content for all of them to make them worth sticking around. Kman's post gives you a clue how that happens people! That's why I send traffic only to sites that I know give a shit. Sites such as Karups and ATK.

If you were at Phoenix Forum you may have hear ATK CEO Kim Nielsen say they spend $2 million a year on content. Guess what? They only have 4 pay sites. That's a shit load of content per site to keep members happy. And Karups offers similar massive content updates as well. Others can learn a lot from such companies as these.

Fletch XXX 01-27-2005 11:24 AM

ive had access to more than 5 pay sites per week for over 2 years.

most paysites are totaly shit inside.

Shap 01-27-2005 11:38 AM

Hey Kman. What's up dude? You can be sure you won't see any of that shit on Twistys. :thumbsup

BIGTYMER 01-27-2005 12:07 PM

Our members areas are top notch.

hydro 01-27-2005 12:23 PM

I guess the programs can't really afford it when affiliates are so demanding and expect bonuses just for promoting the program.

Dalai lama 01-27-2005 12:26 PM

Not surprised at all Kman, did you signup at any of the adultplatinum.com sites? :winkwink:

Aslong they pay right, btw that's why you always should ask for access to the memberareas before promoting a revshare sponsor

:thumbsup

I'm a member of one of the big mega movie sites and it's a joke. They do have a ton of video sites you can access but some contain maybe 10 videos and the really bad part is they have for example, 5 asian sites and each one has the same 3 or 4 clips and then a few different ones. It's a rip.

The other thing is they all say "Weekly Updates" in the headers and then under it you see.. Last Update : June 6, 2004. What's the point?

I have to agree with you. Part of the problem I believe is sponsors being so swamped with so many projects that things like Quality Control get pushed to the side for more pressing projects. Hell, some websites go down for hours or even entire weekends and program owners are not aware of it until they walk in Monday morning.
You enter some members and images are not loading, links are broken, movies cut off before the end etc. Even small things like spelling and grammar mistakes are overlooked.
There are some program owners though that are finally understanding this. They are coming to us to QA their members areas, tours and galleries. We see very few problems on some sites, and others have a ton of corrections that need to be made.

I just remembered another one that I will mention the name. Last month all Hustler video updates were done with video software that was expired so all the videos had a nag message overlaid on them saying they needed to buy the software. I haven't checked back this month to see if they fixed it but how do they do a whole set of updates across a dozen or so of their plugins without seeing the mistake.

Thanks Donny! We have 3 sites total and spend a ton of money on content each year. Thats one of the main reasons why only 1/5 of our total revenues has to go towards affiliate payouts. All the rest remains with us :pimp

DarkJedi 01-29-2005 05:22 PM

99% of "Big Paysites" is crap.

nikki99 01-29-2005 05:29 PM

this is so bad ... members area should all be nice, people get mad to see they waste money for nothing and they maybe never signup again another site ...

we all should get worry about have nice members area for the good way of this biz

Rui 01-29-2005 05:36 PM

Sadly this seems the norm...

Many paysites are worse than TGP's...

No broken links

Wizzo 01-29-2005 06:20 PM

Maybe that's why Porn DVD Dollars does so well... because the tour of
Porn DVD Direct is also the member area... So they know what they are getting!

Any active affiliates that want a password just hit your account mgr. up!

B-Eazy 01-29-2005 06:45 PM

QuaWee 02-03-2005 03:36 PM

thats one of the main reasons i go PPS instead of reccuring if I did not by a trial to the site

Relish XXX 02-03-2005 03:40 PM

That is why we have found it easier running a video on demand set up. The surfer can see what they are going to get before paying.

Our convertion ratio is stupidily good. Approx 1 in 50 with an average spend of $60.
