I'm having a hard time finding a house to rent... Anyone else have this problem?
My area doesn't have very many house rentals available. I don't want/can't have an apartment and houses that are available are either in the ghetto or $1800-$2500+ a month, which is a ridiculous amount to spend on rent. I am willing to move out of my area, but it's hard to find listings online, because they are either outdated or scattered all over the place.
Anyone else have problems like this? I empathize with you if you do! :Oh crap If anyone has any links or tips for something like this, post them! :) |
i found a house!

renting is a complete waste of money.. buy.

Try a local real estate agent, they don't generally advertise that they deal with rentals, but most will.

But seriously, keep thinking you will find excatly what your looking for and you will. When we decided to move to Cancun we only wanted to be on the beach in a nice place, no ifs ands or butts. When we got here we realized that the ONLY place to live on the beach was the hotel zone ( which we didn't want to be near)or a little stretch of beach near Punta Sam, but the prices were so high. I kid you not, I went to the beach and just sat and thought .... "I will not give up, I will find just what I'm looking for" and I just kept that in my mind. A few days later we found a 3b 2ba condo right on the beach for $7000 pesos a month....that is only $630 or so USD! And it's not in the hotel zone! Keep your chin up...and I'll send some positive energy your way too:) |

That's an awesome deal you got! When I first saw $7000 I was like :eek7 until I read PESOS haha. I won't settle, I'll keep looking until I find the perfect place. Mexico here I come!!! hehe... thanks :) |
I would suggest you go walk around an area you are interested in. Look for vacancy signs and write down the numbers. I did this once and brought my cell phone with me and called the numbers when I was right outside the places. I found the apartment i wanted and it had just came available the day before. This place had one of the best views in Vancouver and I took it right then and there, walked to the bank machine took out $1100 and grabbed it :)

You can rent an apartment with a roomate. That's an option you can consider if you can find someone disent to share an apartment.
|
There are rentals all over the place out here, but then, there's a reason for that. The cost of living out here is insanely cheap, (thankfully), and that's because no one wants to live here. :)

kinda same position i'm in right now. I'd buy if the right house came up for sale though. There is hardly shit to rent and if they do open up they are usually trashed by college kids.

you need to find a site like this
http://www.rentlist.net/ we used that here in Atlanta and got a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath, .5 acre backyard with closed porch...for $900 a month |

The best thing is take a day and drive around, you will find places that have a sign but are not listed.
Good luck! |
