In reference to a thread I started last night:
also another advantage of this service over a normal gfy contest is the owner can choose to rate the designs that come in - which will give the designers a hint as to what type of style the owner prefers (hence providing the owner with more accurate designs). also a public rating could be added in too.

the research i've done indicates otherwise.

the couple that I saw, were just based around forums and not a custom system. so there would be a significant advantage with something like this.

Great idea. Suggestions:

Add usage (print, web only, shirts, etc.) if not vector

Add payment options (will pay via epass only, epass + paypal, epass + paypal + moneybookers, etc.)

Would the designers have profiles or portfolio sections? All sorts of stats you could post there.

Endless possibilties.

And I'm not going to have 2 seperate members areas as you might think it'd be (one for contest starters and one for designers) - it will be one members area with the ability to start a contest and/or design as well.

The profile/portfolio would contain all designs arranged in an ordered fashion along with started contests.

Also contest alerts via email.

great idea - but to make it work good, you should put some clauses and shit in there. I have lots of ideas for something like this. You can always get at me on ICQ, 168....845...246


heres one right off the bat ,

whoever starts the contest has to pre-pay the cash prize. You really need to avoid people freeloading peoples work, so you have to guarantee a winner per contest, even if the design isnt offically used, its total crap when a bunch of designers put their hard work into something and nobody wins, or they hire someone else to make a design 'based' off their favorite(s) from the contest.

Also have all submissions auto-watermarked, of course.

I am looking forward to submitting my entries in the various contests..I shy away from half of the ones posted here because they seem kinda shady the way so many have turnned out in the end.

I think Triple 6 has a great suggestion and it would give the submitters much more motivation and confidence in the program.

well guys unfortunately this idea won't be happening from me.

I signed an NDA half a year ago that had a slight mention of a site like this and I completely 100% forgot about it and the owner contacted me.

You can expect something similar in the near future from someone else.
