Exit popup on country?
 

We wanna give our European visitors an exit popup, other countries are popup free, does anybody have a little script to specify that in a Javascript popup script?

the simplest way is to use deny, allow in htaccess

allow all but deny surfers from european countries (.uk, .fr, .nl, .de etc) and set your error 403 as eurosurfers.html (the html on that page will contain the code for a popup on exit), for example. surfers from other countries won't be affected at all.

there are more complicated ways with fancy scripts and other shit... but that only takes like 20 seconds to set up.

Maybe they want to offer them a special deal
or product, that does not sell good in other countries. Who knows, it's there business.

But if you really wanna know, we have a paysite program for several European countries only, why bother the 70% US visitors with a popup that promotes a site they cannot use anyway.

Very logical IF you get it...

Cause foreign traffic sucks and you do not typically have credit cards. And if you do your more likely to chargeback so the processors scrub you harder.

So to the dialer you go.

Stop surfing and stop wasting bandwidth.

Yeah but redirecting to a dialer page isntead of a join page is kinda fucked up if not done correctly - considering that places like France, Germany, Netherlands are wealthy nations.

Check the email addresses of new members in the ibill stats and a fair % have a foreign extension or foreign ISP on the end of it.
