I am officially Addicted

to the internet. I cant sleep, my mind is all on my projects, and it's driving me mad. Its morning already and have had a total of 2 hours of sleep.

Time to see a shrink.

Spunky 01-25-2005 07:46 AM

It started about a month ago.

I have done well by controlling it for years, but it caught up with me.

NinjaSteve 01-25-2005 08:20 AM

Don't see a shrink. It's okay. Just play Everquest. Do it. DO IT

Mefo 01-25-2005 08:23 AM

Furious_Male 01-25-2005 08:25 AM

Thats normal business for most. I did that for plenty of years. I learned now sleep is more important.

That's what all heroine junkies say as well, in the basic essence it's both an addiction :winkwink:

Doing business on the net is much like trying really hard to comprehend
how big the universe is... and still keeping Your sanity.

Organize to Your best ability or You'll go :small-smi :weihnacht :conehead :Hollering :ticking :eyecrazy real fast.

Personally, I also discipline myself to wrap things up COMPLETELY after a day's 6-14 hours of work. :thumbsup

Edit: goddam, stressed-out fingers causing typo's :upsidedow

BlogTexter 01-25-2005 11:34 AM

I'm always thinking of new projects and ideals, even when I am offline.

I try organizing and trying to keep everything on track, but the more I organize the more work piles up and new ideas start rolling.

Diligent 01-25-2005 01:32 PM

Ouch, I notice that phenomenon myself as well.. :Oh crap

I guess all You can do is this:

Set some time aside to do nothing but priority-planning...

1. Try to figure out what would be profitable the SOONEST and MOST and just accept having to shuffle the rest out to the "Future"-list (and later only pick something from there when there's time & money for it).

2. Focus on the selected projects, whenever You sense that "Too Much!"-stuff again, squeeze in another prioritizing-session...

It's good to step back once in a while too, take a few one-day-vacations every month and at least don't think about NEW projects those days.

I work this way and I'm coping this far :)
Don't sprint, don't crawl, just keep jogging :thumbsup

Patience :thumbsup

sweetME 01-25-2005 01:54 PM

Not sleeping is normal in this business.

adamneve 01-25-2005 02:40 PM
