My Uncle Is On Life Support
 

I have never dealt with this before and I'm not too good at coping. His colon burst a couple weeks ago but he did not know it burst. He thought that he had constipation. The pain got too overwhelming so he went to the emergency room to check it out. Turns out that the waste has been leaking into his body from the rupture.

He went into emergency surgery and his heartbeat became erradic. The doctor said that in all his years practicing medicine that he has never seen something this bad. His body is poisioned and he is on life support right now. My aunt and cousin have to make the decision to either keep him on life support or to pull the plug. This is an awful situation and I ask you all to keep him in your thoughts.

I am not religious but my prayers are certainly with him. They have given him 48 hours. :(

Sorry to hear that. My dad (who's NEVER sick) has antibiotic colitis and has been in the hospital since last Monday and has been very, very sick. They told him just 50-100 years ago, he would have died from it. I've had one of the worst weeks of my life, but at least he's still here. Reading about your uncle makes me feel very fortunate for the first time in days.

I hope your uncle has a positive outcome. I know it will be a difficult decision to make.
