Dude, viruses have been sending to addresses in (a) address books and (b) found on web sites for about 2 years now. It is nothing new. The topic is silly.

Its a Virus... no one was hacked. These emails hav ebeen going around fo rmonths.

:)

ztik 01-24-2005 10:29 AM

Well it would have to be an email harvesting virus that sends the email to someone mailing with DM..
But I guess its possible

it is, i can turn my proxies into an army of distributed mailing system that can download emails off my site or collect them off home computers (files, address book, and msn messanger) and then it starts mailing them :Graucho

This morning I got two dozen of these emails to different email addresses, only one of which would be located in our database. Someone is just mass spamming, that's all.

I've been getting spam to my lightspeed webmaster email address for several months. Started with just a few of those bank scam deals occasionally. Now I get it for everything- porn, pills, rolex, etc.

Expect a shitload more now. :)

tranza 01-24-2005 10:49 AM

xclusive 01-24-2005 10:53 AM

Fuck off, pussy.

I was simply trying to warn them a possible security issue.

I get a couple of those so called WashMutual emails every day along with many other Banks and financial institutions. Mostly WashMutual and PayPal.

I assume the scumbags sending these are trying to get account info by tricking the recipients into thinking it is a legit email getting them to login and enter their information. If you check their links you'll see that you are not going to the real site. (usually an ip address)

bastards

Rui 01-24-2005 12:12 PM

forget addresses...

Get shitloads of those a day...some little fuckers even manage to pass tru the filters :X
