I was just talking on ICQ and started thinking that I can't believe its been 4 years I've been working from home now , so I thought I might share how I got here .. and wanna find out how some of you did .
I guess you could say it all started with a phonecall from my wife while I was at work ... saying she wants to pose for a porn mag ..
At the time , I wasnt into the into the idea but a few years later the bills were starting to add up to levels my little cooking job couldnt keep up with and we ended up posing for Naughty Neighbours mag .
So anyway , after the shoot on the ride home the content producer Vedran , starts telling me about the internet porn and all this stuff and how me and steph should get a site started , cause up until this time I think we had a few naughty pics posted on Goecities and our sympatico webspace LOL
A few months later we have a website up and we're both working overtime to spam as many yahoo chat rooms
as we could .
Eventually the traffic added up and we were starting to see some sales , not enough to make me rich but enough to let me start tuning the site and redesigning it over and over and over .. No shit this site ( www.neatspot.net ) I must've redesigned it 40 times and even had huge fights with vedran about it , he didnt see what redesigning the site was going to do for it , and really it didnt do much except teach me to design .
right about now in my story I find GFY and see other designers about the same quality of work as mine and think to myself " shit if these guys can do it , so can I " so I register Grubproductions.com and make my very embarrasing start as a designer .
One of my first clients was Kmanrocks .. nice guy , knows business but is brutal honest and almost made me cry .. but I keep on trucking and a few months later I am noticing a trend across all the boards,
" gallery designer needed " over and over and over ..
So I launch AGS or adultgalleryservice.com , with my new baby I hit GFY and spammed it .. this was the first time I ever tasted money in the business and for the next year I was stuck in adobe 20 hours a day .. seems I hit the market right at the right time , cause I couldnt stop getting orders , long after I was tired and burnt out ..
One day a year later I woke up and saw that somehow I had let adultgalleryservice.com expire and I just sorta closed the book on it .
I had Twistedbydesigns.com lying around and threw a design on it , changed my sig and carried on ..
Design eventually overpowered my time to run stephs sites and all the avs I had set up etc , so they all closed and now I do design 100% of the time , Steph retired last year and we bought all the content we could back off the providers to erase what we could .
3 years later .. Im here typing about it .. howd ya get here ?
