UPDATE (copy and paste from our board... don't want to post the link)...
--- There was a problem with the update (version 3.5.12) today. Several people had programs missing after they updated to this version. We found the error and just released a new update (3.5.13). First the good news: Most of our members were not affected by this as they hadn't updated to version 3.5.12 yet. Most people that updated to version 3.5.12 could recover the programs by downgrading to version 3.5.11 or will be able to recover them with version 3.5.13. Now the bad news: For some people it won't be possible to automatically get the programs back. This is the case if you... 1.) Updated to version 3.5.12 today and 2.) Had programs missing and 3.) Changed something (added/changed/included/excluded/etc. a program) If you still have programs missing after updating to version 3.5.13 it won't be possible to automatically get them back. We're truly sorry about this. In this case we recommend the following: Go to C:\Program Files\StatsRemote\database, find the programs that are missing and add them to StatsRemote again. Please use exactly the same name as the database file is called, e.g. if the database file is called 'Program Name (Processor).dat' you should call the program in StatsRemote 'Program Name (Processor)'. This way you will make sure to keep your historical stats of the programs (StatsRemote won't need to read them again). Please note that the program type and program name can be different. Once the program is added to StatsRemote again you can rename it to whatever you like without losing your historical stats. Here is what happened: We support thousands of programs and the program database is getting bigger and bigger (we just added 34 new programs to this update). Once in a while we need to do some 'cleaning', e.g. programs change their name and there are duplicate routines in the software or programs close and we need to disable them, so that the software doesn't check non-existing stats anymore. We did this 'cleaning' several time before and it was never a problem. This time there was a problem, i.e. quite a few programs were not displayed for some people after the update to version 3.5.12. The account information was still stored but not displayed in the interface. That's why everybody that didn't make any changes (added/changed/included/excluded/etc. a program) was able (will be able to) get the programs back. Everybody that did make changes overwrote all account information with the data that was displayed in the interface, thus the account information of the missing programs is gone. Lastly, it's good practice to backup your data on a regular basis. In the case of StatsRemote the easiest is to backup the entire StatsRemote folder in Program Files. This way you will always keep your accounts, settings and historical stats. This is by no means an excuse for the problems today, those were totally our responsibility. Again, we're truly sorry about this. |
still works for me
