MiniMac Hype

So it's 2 inches... So? They still have a bunch of wires comming out the back. Kinda defeats the purpose of the size thing...

Until they make a wifi adapter for EVERYTHING, the technology isn't worth it. Granted, $500 is ok for a Mac, but that's just for the box. One could find faster and cheaper Macs on Craigslist fully loaded WITH mouse, keyboard, Airport, and maxed out ram.

Although great for trendy people... Indeed, it is. But the MiniMac is just the fucking iCube ReReloaded.

You could order it with wifi and bluetooth and then have wireless internet, keyboard and mouse... Unless Apple is planning wireless electricity you will always need a power cord and a video cord.

A home computer is a major purchase many families. Just like a refridgerator or stove, most people prefer new (with warrantry) as opposed to used.

The key here is the pricepoint. People (especially PC people who haven't always thought about Mac) can now get a Mac for $499 and use the monitor and keyboard and mouse they got 16 months ago with the computer they're using now.

With the runaway success of the iPod, you can bet we'll be seeing and hearing a lot more about Apple in the next few years.

saw ibm toying with the idea about computer "blocks" that size, you can carry it with you and use it at docking stations . say between home and work , or internet cafes would have the stations.. that way theres no waires out the back ,just drop it in and you have full connectivity

they do have wireless power, my sonicare uses it. also there are wireless optical mice that get their power wirelessly from being on their mousepads.

theres always been the idea of having a "powered" desk that you could just set down your gadgets and they'd recharge.. laptops , ipods, whatever.

All you have to do is login to the website below and anyone with traffic can get a free one.

Log-In Here They did the same thing with Ipods and A week later they sent me a free one.

there are always going to be pc users and computer nerds that can make something better or build their own or whatever bullshit. well then this computer isn't for you, but you can bet your ass it's going to put another dent into the pc market for apple and increase their market share. last i checked apple stock was a recommended buy and a fairly high price compared to all the other pc companies.

lol, iCube... Forgot about that one.

Digipimp 01-23-2005 01:27 PM

the only reason the cube wasn't successful is because it was too pricey, well this isn't

First of all, there is no such thing as a minimac. it's called a Mac mini.
