SETTINGS -> PLUGINS -> REMOVE EXTRA FUZZY NOISE
You can actually get some 3rd party plugins that'll do a good job or you can just try messing with the EQ |
i would search google for a plugin much easier
|
Post a sample and I can help.

If that's what you're doing, you should get yourself a preamp to run your inputs through. I run a mic through a little ART StudioV3 preamp and it helps a ton. Here's a song I was messing with last week (I'm still writing parts for it). The acoustic guitar is a peice of shit my wife got on Ebay for 20 bucks but it doesn't sound too bad mic'd up well. http://www.incredicash.com/snuggles.mp3 |

That sounds great man! Yeah, I'm running the mic directly into the soundcard. A very ghetto setup. i have stand alone equipment that I normally use to record songs with my band, but I'd like to get into computer recording and editing. I'm gonna check into that preamp you were talking about. That's a nice clean sound. How did you go about micing up your acoustic? Built in pick ups? |
Check some of these sound cards out
http://www.zzounds.com/cat--PCI-Audio-Interfaces--2421 I've got a delta 1010LT, a pretty hi-fidelity soundcard, with 8 rca and 2 xlr inputs...I dump 8 tracks recorded on this baby: http://www.dildobaggins.com/238.jpg ...through the 8 inputs into audition (cep) and the results are amazing (by my standards anyway, I dig lo-fi stuff) Here's a sample of something I did recently: Song And here's your sample, I reduced the hiss and eq'd it little bit and made it louder...the problem with the current hiss reduction algorithms is that it kind of muddy's up the song. Your song sort of fixed |

Awesome!...I think I'm gonna go ahead and order that soundcard you have today, and also that preamp MattO was talking about. Dude...you cleaned the song up perfectly..No fuzz at all...What program did you use to do it?...I need to clean up this song too... That's a sweet song you wrote...I normally write and perform rock with my band...I've been trying to get into writing some experimental music i.e. the samples I've posted...I'm going to go in and add vocals and percussion, among other things...That's just me playing an acoustic guitar...with the original version merged with the same track in reverse... ...I never realized there was so much musical talent here on GFY...it's cool to hear the stuff you guys have created... |
The guitar I mic'd with my condenser mic, I use it for everything, vocals, guitar, etc. The preamp is just a real simple unit, real basic.

Oh yea, I forgot, I got my microphone, preamp, sound card (Audigy 2), Oxygen 8 midi keyboard from the CE Vault! Woo!

Thanks for the compliments, I actually used adobe audition 1.5 hiss reduction with a 8db threshhold to reduce the hiss, then I eq'd it, then amplified, then a little hiss reduction again.
That song I recorded is actually not my band it's a friend's band. Here's 4 songs I did for my band, I play drums on this stuff. Song1 Song2 Song3 Song4 Again, these are pretty lo-fi, but it's exactly what I dig. Also, hopefully you didn't already order the card, but IMHO you should spend a little more and get the delta 1010, not the 1010lt....it's pretty much the same card, but the 1010 has a breakout box with inputs you can put anywhere , as opposed to a bunch 1/2 foot cords dangling behind your computer...it's the only complaint I have about the 1010lt. Also, the 1010 has 1/4" inputs rather than RCA, which allows for a slightly hotter signal. Also, the XLR jacks have mic preamps built into them (both the 1010lt and the 1010 do) |
Actually man, get the 1010lt, didn't notice that the 1010 is almost twice as much money...fuck that :thumbsup

Awesome stuff :thumbsup I've always wanted to learn to play the drums...I went ahead and got the cheaper 1010lt...should do the trick for me...now I just gotta get the editing part down... |
