Great answer

BitterPen 01-22-2005 10:25 PM

I guess I should... sitting at the computer all day, I think I've messed up my posture... hence messing up my neck and back

BitterPen 01-22-2005 10:46 PM

anyone know what the difference in price vs. quality is? I have heard that they are pretty close, but that it's better to go to one or the other... just don't remember which one... LOL I'm taking lead role as the GFY Dumb Blonde tonight. :winkwink:

brizzad 01-22-2005 10:46 PM

just sit up straight from now on when on the computer, it'll go away

stay away from chiropractors - they tweak you once, and they own you for life . . . . seriously

not even a matter of addiction, they will physically tweak you so that you have no choice but to return

I used to work in a lab...we had several people that came in...all had suffered strokes having their necks adjusted. Made me parnoid of going to one of those guys

chiropractors are a complete joke. they are almost as bad as psychics. they do NOTHING. If they did something then you wouldn't have to keep going to them for the rest of your life. When someone has back surgery the surgeon doesn't tell the patient to go to a chiropractor to relieve pain, they tell the patient to go to a physiotherapist.

In essence physiotherapy is the way to go. They help solve any current and potential problems, and then send you on your way to continue strengthening your back so you dont have any future issues.

Turboangel has some back problems. She always get massages at the mall, from those oriential guys with those massage chairs.

Those little guys go to town on her back, putting their all into it and she always feels great afterwards, but the next day it seems that she's worse than she was before.

I don't know if chiropractors are the answer either. You probably are best going to a real doctor and see what's up.

Chiropractor
Looks like you need an adjustment

LiveDose 01-23-2005 12:32 AM

Get yourself to the gym to take a break during the day. I know when I get too caught up in projects sitting in front of the computer my back & neck feel like crap. Sometimes I set a 30 minute timer to go off and break my work streaks... (sad but true)

Also make sure you get a couple of blowjobs weekly,,, :thumbsup :2 cents:

Tightened muscles in your neck and back can pull and misalign your vertebrae causing subluxation which can put pressure on the nerves that exit the spinal column at each vertabra. This is responsible for a majority of back pain complaints. Chiropractic adjustments atempt to realign the spinal column and decrease or cease the pressure on the nerves and gel filled discs between each vertabra. However, if the tightened muscles are not treated as well, they will just pull the vertabrae back into misalignment, hence the repeated trips to the chiropractor for relief. Regular massage w/ heat treatments and strengthening exercises can help correct the problem and possibly prevent it from returning in the future.

I would get a complete spinal radiograph before making a self diagnosis as to the cause of pain. If it is just muscle tension...see a massage therapist, If it's a subluxation you can choose either a Physical therapist or chiropractor. It could also be a more serious condition like a herniated, ruptured, or slipped disc, (although these are predominately located lower in the spine of your lumbar region), and if this were to be your case, I would highly suggest consulting with an Orthopaedic physician before any course of treatment is attempted.

Good luck Hon, back pain is no fun. :(

If you want that extra happy ending I would suggest a massage, you don't wanna get that from a chiropracter :winkwink:

GFX Wiz 01-23-2005 08:22 AM

They say all things that people go to a Chiropractor for can be worked out by a qualified massage therapist. A good massage therapist will work your ass hard...will be painful but effective.

lol you're joking right? I was in the major car accident, I was a passenger and the car was totaled. I was NEVER told to go to a chirpractor. I went to a physiotherapast and they did a great job of helping getting my back in shape.

DomBuyer 01-23-2005 09:39 AM

A massive medical study last year found that chiropractic causes strokes in a small proportion of patients.

Personally, I think it's a scam. It's always seemed ridiculously invasive.

BitterPen 01-23-2005 09:41 AM

Thanks everyone. I will definitely research before jumping into a decision. I wouldn't be so worried, but it hurts from morning to night! I will try adding more exercise into my routine and see if that helps. I'm also gonna call around and ask tons of questions!

:thumbsup :thumbsup
