For the first time, the search giant will provide its advertisers with an application programming interface (API), which will enable them to link their computer systems with Google and control parts of the mammoth Google ad delivery system. The API will allow advertisers to self-administer the delivery, the timing and the price they will pay for their text ads.

Interesting to see how it will turn out.
Imagine if you manage to track the click/sales ratio coming from a specific ad, and then auto disable or enable them. You could also automatically track which ads have best ctr/sales ratios... and based on this control which ads appear on which terms. Opens up so many possibilities.

Oh baby!! I can't wait to see exactly what this will entail.
