installing a soda fountain/dispenser in your house
I want to install something like: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...7958 420&rd=1 into my house, and it seems in america it would be pretty easy... does anyone have information on where to get equipment like this (and the syrup and supplies afterwards) in holland or the EU?

try restaurant supplies in holland :thumbsup

Goto the local Coke or Pepsi Bottler in your area they will hook you up.

a restaurant supply shop would be your best bet. but there's more to a soda dispenser than just that part.
if you're getting something with 8 heads like that, you'll need a multiplex rack to store the different soda syrups. you'll have tubes running from the multiplex rack to the dispenser. you'll also need a CO2 tank to carbonate the water that mixes with the syrup. the auction says a novice can install it. that's pretty misleading. it's nowhere near as simple as buying the dispenser and dropping it on your counter. |
yea also don't the syrups have a short shelf life? That's only what I've heard, I dont see how with all the damn sugar in it..
I've been wanting to do this as well, however I'd get waaaay to fat if I did. |

also, i wouldnt fill it all up soda, maybe 1 soda type, then some healthy stuff, otherwise, you'll start to get fat (unless you excersize a hella lot). |
My best friend had a Coke Machine in her house... like the one that dispenses cans... not the fountain kind. They got theirs through the local Coke distributor. :thumbsup

you gotta keep it stocked with ice aswell
they make kits for home installations that dont require anything really other than soda but the hard part about these machines is the ICE the ice helps keep the syrup line cold so you always gotta have ice in it and ice melts fast |

yeah ive found a lot of resources for getting an actual vending machine in holland, but i would really like to get an actual fountain with an ice maker in it. i'd use max 3 heads, i saw stuff like that online but its all from america and weighs in excess of 100kg which is a no go for shipping. the (online) restaurant supply stores i find all have snack bar type stuff, ice cream machines, deep fryers, grills, etc.. but no soda fountains.. its really not a popular thing here, only see it in places like mcdonalds really.
i also heard theres things you can do if you have an old refridgerator you dont mind busting holes into as far as avoiding the ice issue. what about a soda gun like they have in pubs and bars, is there any advantage to that? (besides shipping weight) blah, its something so simple to be done in america... no appreciation for soda here. of course you can get a www.beertender.nl in every store, but soda? ice cubes? whats that? - Seth |
I have been using sodaclub they kick ass and I save a ton.

I have always wanted one, when I was a kid.

check out this place, http://www.servu-online.com its where I order my bar supplies...they will send you a free catalog. As for the machine, they are maintance intensive... the ratios of surup to water have to be maintained, the heads cleaned every few days, and setting up the hoses, CO2, pump, drains, etc...can be a pain. Call one of their techs first or a distributor....who ever installs it needs to know what they are doing
good luck :thumbsup |
I've always wanted a beer tap, like a kegerator but never thought of a soda dispenser... although I don't drink it myself it would still be fun to have :)

Do you really drink that much soda??
