Was I the only one spammed by BradM?

I call it spam because it looks generic with the exception that it appears to go out to people listed on the hun. The email he used is in the whois for whatever domains I've had that were listed on The Hun.

SmokeyTheBear 01-21-2005 12:46 PM

i never click spam Lots of people will put tags to record who opens the spam so they can send you more spam..

Dirty F 01-21-2005 12:53 PM

What did it say?

uno 01-21-2005 01:07 PM

Hello,

My name is Brad and I am the Affiliate Manager from Fastsize.com . I noticed that you receive listings on the Hun, and I wanted to introduce you to our program.

How we can help gallery submitters is simple. Use our product as an additional product on your gallery. A large text link at the bottom of the gallery for example. "Click Here to Enlarge Your Penis". The curiosity is too overbearing and many surfers will click the link.

http://www.fastsize.com/webmasters/

NO you will NOT lose sales to your main sponsor by doing this because if they want to buy your product they will. If they want to buy ours, they will. Both?
They will buy both. But you will not lose any sales doing this, no one ever does.

If you are interested in learning more feel free to get ahold of me via the contact info below.

Thanks!

- Brad

I got it too. Definitely a blind spam, or he probably wouldn't have spammed me.

Small world :winkwink:

aflex 01-21-2005 01:12 PM

tasteless way of trying to generate business if you ask me..

Rui 01-21-2005 01:13 PM

Yup.

But I fail to see the difference with presenting a new business relationship and spam.

If I wrote one email to a webmasters, they would cry spam..even tho I only contacted them..

So what is the right way to make new contacts and build new relationships then?

Dirty F 01-21-2005 01:19 PM

Damn, he must know how that shit is hated by most webmasters...i wonder what made him do this...bad business move if you ask me.

SmokeyTheBear 01-21-2005 01:23 PM

i dont see a problem , he told you where he found you and why he is doing it.

he's just digging leads, aggresively yes but doesn't seem too harmfull. he wouldnt leave all his contact info if he thought he was annoying you, or you could just annoy him back..

A non personal form letter sent to people scoured from the internet I'd consider spam.

If he took the time, addressed it to me, got me on icq, anything else, it wouldn't be spam. I would have little problem with someone contacting me in any number of different ways.

That being said, I have nothing against Brad.

True but i think theres something to be said for aggresive marketing.

If it were just about exposure , he would simply buy a webmaster email list from someone and spam away, the fact he did actual work to track down new leads by going to the source and finding ACTUAL working webmasters says this guy is going for WHALES. If anything you might feel special you made it into his list of people to contact , as i'm sure he knows blindly over-aggresive marketing is a detriment to his company(sp?)

I dont have a problem with how brad got his contacts
brad is good people but him and I just have diffrent biz styles
what works for him works for him
what works for others works for others

I know for a fact if i did what he was did and he found out - oh good lord would shit hit the fan :P but thats the name of the game in this biz :)

He is good at what he does :)

psychic powers, or maybe skywrite the url? :1orglaugh

Its so obvious who has business experience prior to working in this industry, and those who do not.

but nothing beats free publicity like this. :thumbsup

BradM 01-21-2005 01:58 PM

If you don't like it, delete it. I am cold emailing leads. If you don't want to get emails, then make your whois private with your registrar. STILL have a problem? Call me: 1-949 470 4588

BradM 01-21-2005 02:01 PM

That comment was directed at those who don't know how the business world works, or those who trolled and said "Bad news" or "uh oh".

This is a VERY Common practice in mainstream- and I generated tens of thousands of dollars a month selling a support solution simply by cold emailing contacts with a generic introduction.

BradM 01-21-2005 02:01 PM

Ya always delete it.

Cory W 01-21-2005 02:10 PM

Who cares if it is personal or a template. If a message contained in a template will make you money, what is the problem?

This business kills me. A basic understanding of how business operates would help the webmaster community. I bet no one cares about mailing consumers with sites with your aff code embedded? Certainly that is ok. I would rather read program spam threads in this forum than 90 percent of the threads posted on a daily basis.

Delete the email. Or better, read it, decide if it is worthwhile, then delete or save.

I get more spam than most people here. Trust me, if you think all the Weg aliases, my own domains and personal mail is not spammed, you are crazy. I have never posted about it.

Hell, Media Tickets sends me 10 a day. That is of course, out of line (as is their phone calls to me) but 1 email?

bradm uses fastsize like 5 hours a day. his cock is over a foot and a half long so he can email whoever he wants.

LeeNoga 01-21-2005 02:41 PM

Hmmm, I am not buying the arguements here.

If I said right here, and right now: These are XBangcash highest converting sites this last pay period...you all will scream SPAM.

http://www.latenighthookups.com
http://www.lesbiancollegesex.com
http://www.milfscaughtoncamera.com
http://www.pimpherandride.com

If I contacted you one by one, you would scream SPAM.

But if I contacted somebody who found this useful, I would get a, "thanks Lee"...

I see nothing wrong with cold contacting webmasters. Sometimes they have no idea what is new or what has been improved.

If it is not useful, delete it, and if it is, be gracious.

It was stated to market to webmasters, we should do it "Same way most of us do".

What way is that?

I love the after Internext show, "It was great meeting you and..." and you know damn well you didn't! BUT, I appreciate the product reminder none the less.

Thanks for the points everyone, I feel the exact same way. But it is TRULY amazing how any form of contact from a program these days is considered spam. I really don't mind the free publicity (it isn't negative by any means, anyone with their sense about them sees that) and I got some leads from the cold emails so I am a happy camper.
