Officers taped beating boy get $3m damages

A Los Angeles jury has awarded more than $3 million to two white policemen accused of involvement in the videotaped beating of a black teenage suspect, officials said today. Sacked former police officer Jeremy Morse had alleged he was treated unfairly when he was terminated from the Inglewood Police Department, while his partner claimed his 10-day suspension over the incident was excessive. The mayor of the city of Inglewood, Roosevelt Dorn, slammed the awards as "outrageous".
