Ok, so the Smart cars just became available here. For some strange reason I am totally in love with them. I saw the Roadsters...love them but they are not available in North America yet.

So does anyone else have this strange facination with this very tiny, very ugly car?

It's a 175mb torrented .avi of "Fifth Gear", a British motoring program. One of the segments in the program shows what happens when a Smart Fourtwo is crashed into a concrete barrier at 70mph. Amazingly, the safety shell survives with minimal damage, and there are no intrusions into the driver or passenger area.

Mind you, the force of the impact would probably have resulted in fatal internal injuries for any of the occupants.

If they're not fast enough for you then Smarts-R-Us will sell you the kit to replace the standard engine with something a little more terrifying...
