Even though you can host more freely from The Netherlands?? Since it's a far more liberal country compared to the US.

Torrents, but also niches which are difficult to host from the US, like scat for example.

strobi 01-20-2005 01:19 PM

Sure, if support is top notch. 60$/mbit is reasonable.

24/7 support on IM or toll free number from US

Due 01-20-2005 01:24 PM

Sure if you are charging based on AVERAGE usage and not peak or 95 per centile then it is not that expensive.
I asume you'll have a server included in the price as well.

pradaboy 01-20-2005 01:26 PM

$60/mbit is not expensive at all, especially if you can host more shit (no pun) than you could in the US.

It's 95% percentile. But we offer awesome support 24/7. Not capped or shared bandwidth. When I visit the main US hosters I can't find a deal which is better.
The reason I posted this is since 2 European hosters are teaming up and want to make a special introduction deal.

Customers get our personal cellphone numbers which means you can really reach us 24/7. So response is ok I guess. Solutions in 5 minutes is impossible before I know what the problem is.

Just kidding but cool offer , cell phone connect is nice , means you'll get it resolved.

The difference isn't enough to make me leave trusted www.foundrynap.com but def not a bad offer to say the least.

not be be a wise-ass or anything but if your hosting business is so good why do you sigwhore for Icoocash.com and do not promote your own business?

this is an honest question, not trying to offend anyone :2 cents:

Sjoerd built and hosts my servers - Been using them for a considerable time and yes, you can call anytime day or night and they are right onto it.

Last January I started the month off with three ddoss attacks on my main members box, and they were able to divert this and have my box running smoothly in less than an hour each time -

They offer a service and back it up all the way - Exactly what professional webmasters need.

Antonio 01-20-2005 02:12 PM

And if I want to contact you, should I use smoke signals?

Pornopat 01-20-2005 02:15 PM

A company called IS.
Unfortunately those were the small prints.

Mmmm, $60 was Mbit colocation pricing, so no server included. Next offer is with server included. You just woke up? :)
And yes we host several celebs sites...

Don't think so Tim, they charge $75 per Mbit when you commit to 10 Mbit. And can you cancel you're hosting account after one month when you're not satisfied???

pradaboy 01-20-2005 03:38 PM

who the hell is Tim???

anywho...

Last time I spoke to Henry it was $650 for 10mbit on a beefed up dual xenon server with about $55/mbit overage.

Now what were you saying again? :upsidedow

You probably didn't email me :)

When you check just some hosting provider advertising on GFY you will see a mbit pricing like this:

1 Mbit $100
5 Mbit $90
10 Mbit $85
20 Mbit $80
50 Mbit $65

So explain why my $60 is too expensive....

You're not getting my point, I don't look at advertising on GFY. I talk to the people at Isprime often. Henry is the main sales manager I believe and he put that deal down for me. So that's why I tell you $1K for that server with 10mbit is expensive.

I could care less about what I pay per mbit, it's about the package! Obviously I do not have any interest in delivering my own server so not only the mbit price matters.

That said Isprime offers a much more competitive deal and so do a lot of other extremely reliable hosting companies. Not raining on your parade man just pointing something out :thumbsup

chaze 01-20-2005 03:46 PM

Too much, I can get $50 (maybe less) with reduntant connections through global and level 3

For 30 megs and up.

Why use another country, unless you are a spammer or a kiddie porn piece of shit.

That doesn't explain why some major players prefer getting hosted by me. We are in the hosting bizz since 1997. It's because we're from Europe that you don't know us well. I understand that a posting on GFY will not convince you that hosting abroad can have advantages. Maybe i should buy some big bannerspace on top of GFY with flashy banners so you will get the idea that we are big and trustworthy.
We can offer the same product at the same rates although the $/euro exchange rate is bad at the moment. If you like to discuss this in the same manner as you discuss business with Henry pls feel free to contact me on ICQ 133480250. And BTW my name is Sjoerd, not the main sales manager but you can probably work out a deal with me :)
