BasketBall Fans, I need your help...
A few friends of mine were having an arguement about a rule either in the nba or the ncaa, and wanted to know if you could help us out.
If somebody is under the basket and tried to shoot the ball, and nobody touches the ball, and it doesn't touch the basket or the backboard, can that same player grab the ball and continue doing whatever he was doing? I know the old rules say that would be passing to yourself, but now I hear there is a new rule where if it is a legitimate shot, it is ok to grab the ball... Does anybody know the actual rule to this, ncaa or nba? or both? Thanks |
under the basket is not considered passing to yourself any longer, just be careful of the 3 second rule

I'm sure that's not allowed, it all depends on wether the ref calls it a shot or a pass I think :2 cents: |

Quick question, does the Euro League actually think they are better than the NBA? I heard a rumor about it, but I'm pretty sure it's not true. Just wondering |
People, this used to not be allowed, but now, from what I have heard is that if it is an actual shot attempt, then you are allowed to grab the ball back and it is even considered a rebound...
I know back in the days that was not allowed, but I heard it is a new rule... anyways, not a big deal, just wanted to get the correct answer.. Thanks... |
