VISA or AMERICAN EXPRESS

I need an extra CC. I already have mastercard. I'm in doubt between VISA and AMERICAN EXPRESS. I will use it mainly for traveling, and pay the hotel bill(s) Also maybe some restaurants etc.

Is AE as often accepted as VISA?

Thanks

Andre

Definitely go with VISA.
They don't always accept AMEX

I agree Visa would be the wise choice. Nothing worst then getting stuck in a situation where they won't take your card.

American Express offers better features if you are a platinum or higher member, such as travel services and personal services. AmEx also has a far higher limit than you will get with an introductory VISA card. If your credit is decent you can start off with 5-10k a month at least, and it'll just go up from there once they determine your 'average' spending. Also, you can pay off charges any time and open your limit up higher.

Platinum members can buy cars, etc. on their cards. And forget about the Black card!

VISA is easy to get, an AmEx is great for a businessperson who does a lot of spending, some of it large ticket.

Depends where you are travelling to ?

But Amex is well accepted in Europe and has an excellent customer service should you have any sort of problem. The Amex Blue is great for use on the web and allows you to pay off the amount monthly. The Green Gold, Silver etc etc are payable in full at the end of each month. First class company IMHO.

Yeah I was thinking their CS is better. Also it looks like I get a travel insurance for free. Saves me some money too :)

Will call them, and ask what it covers, can't find the details on the website
