check your crontab on the command line via crontab -e, and make sure you didnt leave that example domain as the listed address where the results of any crontab entries are sent. make sure the email address is one of your own.

ohh and assuming this info was purposly doctored, make sure mysitename.com is in local-host-names if you're using sendmail, or in your qmail control dir

there is no local-host-names file on my server atleast not with that file name. i did a search on google and found this http://www.faqs.org/docs/securing/chap22sec180.html

so i gather from what i've read there i create the file under /etc/mail and add 'host-names' ... ok when they say host names they mean sites right and not server hostname. so i would put the problem site (lets call it mysitename.com)
mysitename.com
www.mysitename.com
mail.mysitename.com

with this change i should be able to receive email from servers that do a host lookup correct?

it's FIXED i don't know what i did, might of been the local-host-name file, adding a sendmail blank file, reboot of the server, turning on mailman, turning off spamassassin, who knows... i'm about to cry here. seriously tearing up, been fighting this problem for 4 days straight. thanks to all who helped
