possible to have different class c ip's on same server?
hi
does anyone know if it is possible to have say 32 different ip's on a dedicated server but in say 4 different class c blocks? any advice appreciated |
I think you would have a hard time getting them from a single host..
|
hmm not sure..but i think it an be done
|
There is absolutely no reason it can not be done... its simply limited to the blocks that any given host has available....
|
thanks for your responses, i'll ask around and get some prices.
|
It's possible, but it's simply not lucrative for a single host to do it.

SplitInfinity can do that for you. Contact me on ICQ or AIM.... 64791506 or NJesterIII
Or my cell 619-227-8845 Just order a server right now and tell me your account info and I will hook you up. Pick a plan DS02 or higher. Click to order |

It is possible. Your host could have 4 /29 routed to a box in different Class C's. Most providers won't want to break up addresses like this unless you make it worth their while.

planning on doing a little cloaking?

thanks for all the replies, when i am ready i'll be in touch. i have one other question, does anyone know if it is possible to setup say 4 different pairs of nameservers also on one dedicated server?
e.g. ns1.domain.com ns2.domain.com ns1.domain2.com ns2.domain2.com etc. thanks in advance |

It is possible, but Im not sure if the RFC describes needing reverse dns setup for the IP addresses for the nameservers.
I know many hosting companies providing shared/reseller hosting share the IP addresses anyway. |
