o.k. - I had it with little TGPs and quirky rules!
 

I don't really mind jumping through hoops if there's a "reward" worth doing it for - but all these little TGPs who think they're God (upon themselves) will be deleted from my submit list by the end of the month if they hussle me with things like:

· odd size thumbnails nobody else is using; I don't mind to make an extra thumb of 105x130 pixels if I get some traffic for doing so!
· pester me with confirmation emails despite me having a password - didn't you sending the password to my email confirmed that it's a legit address?
· have 'submit codes' where despite straining my eyes I can't decipher individual characters in the graphic!
· tell me my server is too slow if just before (and after) Comus scripts told me my page is loading in around 130ms - if you run a site on a $4.95 hosting plan then don't blame my server!
· have an odd length description and don't tell me on the submission form, instead send me back with an error. I don't mind to write a 23 character description for you if I know about it! My RoboForm is usually set to a 29 or 30 character descriptions, which is a widely accepted standard.
· you gave me a script generated password, despite me asking for my personal pwd, and I know your script allows for custom passwords (AGP! and Comus works fine w/o entering pwd every time!)
· you don't know how to run your site, script, trades, and then burden everything on me! Make your site submitter friendly or use sponsor hosted galleries, but don't ask me to submit and then annoy me every submission I try!

If one (or more) of the above applies to your site and
you can't send me at least 2,000 uniques/month then I will delete you from my submit list!
I don't care if the 2,000 come from one listing or five, and I don't think 2,000 is asking much...
Otherwise I'm wasting my time and I have better things to do...

some of the rules are fucking obcure but what gets me is how complex some of the verfication bs is. its like they want an essay to make sure your not a bot.

Good thread, but when I've built submission DBs I've came accross sites that have f.e.

- HTML like "com" or "n" banned?!?

- Have recips that contain 3 backlinks to them, require to place them with 2 others on your gallery (that makes 5 outgoing links) and have set the limit to 5 outgoing links in their script, so there's no place left for Sponsor links.

- or I also love TGPs that have a 150kb pic which you should use as Recip

- or TGP owners that replace their submission page and forget that their 404 leads to some weird shit like trojans, exploits, toolbars, dialers, spyware, adware etc.

But in the end I'm always amused by the fact these TGPs just die off after a few months. :1orglaugh

I've always been espescially annoyed with that one.

There should be more sites that have links to the submit pages and have the links categorized by rules, traffic, ect..

Another quirky one I like:
· have the minimum image size set to 40kb (or even 50kb!) and then reject the gallery because one or two close-ups compressed well under that limit...

I always hated that shit when I submitted galleries too

Well I always put them into a seperate category of my submission DB, so I'll never have to see their TGPs again :-)

BTW: If someone bought my DB and takes a look into the TGP_Problems Category, don't be too upset by the words I've used in the Comments Section sometimes :winkwink:

Indeed some of the requirements are crazy to say the least, plus if you take in consideration that some "obscure" and almost site has them....bahhh

Usually I think that's referring to the file size of the thumb, not the dimensions.

I hate when those kind of shit happens. I think I'll do the same as you.

^^ exactly! if i wanna promote a site that "tricks dumb sluts into fucking for cash" or something, i wanna put it in the damn gallery!
and i agree by ALL the points made about fucked up rules and shit... it takes too much time to submit.

It works both ways.
I hate when fuckers submit and then redirect the gallery to popup hell or a rape site after it's been approved.
I also had one guy submit a bunch of sites and then 404 them to his tgp.
