Is a text tgp better than a thumb tgp?
 

I see a lot of text tgp's still around after all these years. Does that mean they are better than thumb tgp's?

If you started one today which one would you do?

The old and established text tgps are still popular of course but if you start a new one and now, you should go with thumbs.

I never found thumb sites to be very productive...lots of traffic but shit production

i think its the total opposite.

in a thumb tgp the surfer is more pre qualified. they know they think the girl is hot before they even click the thumb or they wouldnt have clicked it. but at the end of the day, if your traffic sucks it doesnt really matter if its a text or thumb tgp.

Imo. thumb tgp's are best for generating traffic (blind link traffic)
But text link tgp's are better for making sales through the galleries..
Others propably have it the other way round *lol*

Not on the board man, not on the board... until it's something we can all participate in like when it comes to trading traffic or exits etc.

Really it doesn't matter anyways if you have a high skim and circle jerk the surfer to 20 sites before they hit a gallery...thumb or text

So which one would be easiest to build to a sextracker top 10 level size?

that will take a long time, if you notice the sites on the top 10 on there they have been around forever. unless you have a ton of bookmarkers your traffic can die really fast without buying feeder.

Of course, but all things being equal, let's say the money was there to feed it as much as needed. Would it being a thumb or text tgp make a difference in how fast it grows?

no idea, i'm curious to the answer though. does anyone have any stats on the productivity of the same traffic sent to thumb and text tgps?

mabye text sites because if they click a gallery and dont see something they like they will go to the next one. on a thumb tgp they only click ones with the girls they like.

Regardless of the 'type' you run it all depends on your content management/traffic management/sponsor management skills. :2 cents:

I think Text TGPS are better than thumb because

1. Search Engine Optzimation
2. A lot of the more expirenced surfers know what the are clicking, if its a pick or a link.

That's exactly why I prefer text ...

you can add alt descriptions on the thumbs... you can add text links at the bottom.. who says it has to be pure thumbs? :)

i have both text and thumb tgp . They used to be both texts and about a year and half a ago I changed one of them into thumbs the productivity went down significantly . Thumbs overall will get you a much higher click ratio but in terms of quality of clickthru ratios i would say text is bettter . I make more $$$ with the text site . :)

I have numerous small 'fake' TGPs and MGP's, I even put some thumb TGPs on the free .info's that I grabbed ;)
The text TGPs bring more sales.

in the years i've lurked this board i've never once seen him post a url. seen him post his pecs, but not his sites. :winkwink:

i would think thumbs are better. More eye catching, to the surfer.

Both can work. I've been a lot more successful in thumb tgps myself but that's just me. It's a much different market now.. lots of shitty thumb sites out there.

Most of the thumb sites look the same now a days too. Maybe I need to change the game a bit.

There are a lot of mixed signals out there. Text TGP's are the biggest but it seems like every new free site is a thumb tgp. They have appeared out of nowhere and are growing faster than text tgps. I don't get it.
