Verotel's card database compromised, or sold...
I've done two test signups on my Verotel processed site, one using a 100% unique email address that was never used for anything else. Lately I have been receiving spams sent to that email address, which mention my full name in the body. Their database has obviously been compromised or leaked by an employee.
If anyone knows anything about this, or how to light a fire under Verotel to respond (they have ignored me so far) then I'd be interested to hear from you. As well as pissing off my members - there are bound to be others who have used a unique email address and have assumed that I am the one that sold their email addresses - I'm also concerned that other details such as our address, phone and CC numbers may have also made it outside of Verotel as well. |

I bought it, ill let you have it for $20,000

The landing page of the spam appears to be on a compromised Asian server, and the site is not using Verotel for billing:
Your purchase will be billed as "DesGrLtd". This description will appear on your EntertainmentCard statement. Design Group Ltd. is located in Russian Federation. I don't think this is coming from Verotel. |
I haven't received any such spams, but the email I used was already a spam bucket, I'll keep an eye out...
